Engine knock

Took my Explorer to the dealer for a loud engine knock coming from the front of the vehicle. Explorer has 44k miles.

Service department said, the knock is coming from the engine and they are trying to locate the issue.

They mentioned that I may need a new engine.

Has anyone had any issues with their Explorer?

Yup, got a new engine at 10k miles due to cam phasers knocking.

New engine at 1705 miles. cam codes when I scanned it. 3.5 months at the dealer. Just got it back.

Damn. I’m guessing it’s a common issue then. I haven’t heard back from the dealer since last week. I may have to call them this week to get a status
