Went out this morning, and my 25 ST was dead. Dead-Dead. Had to use the physical key to open it. Tried jump starting it, to no avail. Called roadside assistance, who got it started with a stronger jump-box. Said my battery was down to 5 volts. Only 4,600 miles on it. Always happens on a weekend. Things were acting strange over the past week. I keep my lane assist turned off, but it turned itself on, and my easy exit turned itself off as well. All this after the latest OTA update. Goes to the dealer on Monday. Anybody else experience stuff like this?

Gotta get mine replaced tomorrow. Been taking 4 cranks to turn over lately. I knew this cold weather was going to prevent it from cranking. When out this morning at 28 degrees. Won't crank, lights flashing. I don't know about OTA I've turned off the Connectivity settings. I guess almost 6 years on the original factory battery. I would say it served it's life

Mine is good now. Battery shows 12.4 volts at rest, and 13.2 when running. Gonna keep an eye on it for now. Dreading that cold weather could kill it.

Weird things start happening when the batteries start dying on these new vehicles. On my Dad's 2018 Fusion Sport, one of the first glitches with a bad battery is that the passive entry will not work on all doors except the drivers. Also affects the seat memory. On his 2018 and my 2019, if the car sits for a month without driving, the battery is dead. Have not experienced a dead battery with my 2020 ST though. It sits for that long with no problems.

Batteries can go bad all of the sudden. You probably just got a bad one from the start. I'm also not sure that the Motorcraft batteries are that good of quality anyway. The dealer installed a new one in my car under warranty. Right at the two year mark it went bad, and guess what, that was the length of the battery warranty.

Tell me about it. Cars these days are computers on wheels. My 2023 Corvette's battery went bad after only 1 month. Learned it has over 50 micro-processors drawing power, even when it's shut off. Our ST's probably do as well. Battery health is very important these days.

Choosing between these two batteries. Leaning more to the Duralast.

There is a auxiliary battery in the rear back. They say it's for Autostop and some other stuff. Do ya recommend on replacing this too. I don't know if it's dead too. I'm thinking I'll get recharged after the main battery replacement

Never knew there was a battery in the back. I'll need to look into that. Mine is a 2025, so it may have changed since 2020.

Service manual shows a AUX battery, but its not for the ST, police interceptor maybe? I checked when I had the cargo area panels off a few years ago.

The auxiliary battery might be for the Interceptor or even their hybrids. I don't think the hybrids are available in the US.

I'm hesitant to recommend this because it was a stretch for me, but here I am all the same. I replaced my battery a few months back and shopped all the major names and brands.

Surprisingly, Walmart was the best of the bunch for warranty/cost ratio. They offer a 4-year warranty and their AGM ran $190. I kinda feel liked I threw away my OE values, stooping so low as to consider Walmart, but I did. I didn't have and wouldn't consider letting them install it.

It's way too early to proclaim this was a good decision, but it's been working just fine. I tried to tell myself it wouldn't bother me so much once the cover was back on, and it hasn't. ;)

I wouldn't go the Duralast route again as one of my trucks went through 3 of their batteries in a 4 year time frame. I switched back to a Motorcraft battery and never had a battery problem again. Of course like anyone else I thought there must be another problem but I checked, charging system and draw numerous times and there was never an issue.

Now to be fair it was a truck that I didn't drive alot and I know that a new battery needs to be seasoned by driving and cycling, but I really believe it was driven enough to accomplish that. Autozone was great with the warranty I never had to pay a dime for the replacements but sometimes the best warranty is the one you never need to use.

Best of luck.
