Also, when traveling the world, it is nice to not lug around an important item like your key fob. Losing such a thing in Borneo would make arriving home at the airport at 2:00am in the sleeting rain a bit of an inconvenience. One of the GREAT features of the ford is the keypad. At the airport you can simply leave your keys in the car and lock it. I haven't yet lost my PIN while traveling...
However now with this deep sleep mode it has not always worked. At first I didn't know why. Sometimes I am gone for 2 - 3 weeks. And the car would not turn on. I was able to get in using the phone app, but apparently (according to this forum) that is not always guaranteed either. Why is Ford trying to save the battery if you can't get in to start it anyway?
