I have been using Rove dashcams for the past 8 years. I am on my second one, I decided to retire the first one 3 years ago, the internal battery died and the date/time would keep resetting.

We have two Thinkware pairs and they’re ok. I bought a gently used Blackvue DR970x pair for our daughter’s Kia Soul. The resolution is stunning.

Rexing V1P for me. Cheap and works great. Hardwired to the fuse box. IMG_5549.jpeg IMG_5550.jpeg

I have a Vantrue model. Could have easily gone with a Viofo, which seems to be about the most popular. I just happened to get a good deal on the Vantrue. Due to the giant trim piece covering all the windshield gadgets I had to install it on the passenger side to keep it out of my face.

Whatever you get, I suggest you avoid models that hang like this. I've seen plenty of videos where this style of camera ends up either pointed at the sky or down at the dash after a collision.
