Just curious to know if anybody has ordered ANY type of wheels from Alibaba? Seeing more and more people using this avenue to get wheels made for their cars, not specifically for the Explorer but for other manufacturers and having success. Let it be known that the stock wheels on the '25 ST's are made in China and are not Forged. Not to take away from the prominent manufactures that most people are using but there is a cost savings going directly with other manufacturers that can make the same product.

Too many unknowns imo. Having seen a wheel blow up at speed, I’m not willing to risk my life to save a few bucks.

They may be made in the same factory as the oem wheels with the same quality control and specs, or they may be made with lousy aluminum and poor quality control.

That is a blind statement. Just because it’s made in China, doesn’t mean it’s the same. You know Fords stuff is built to a certain standard with stricter quality control then Alibaba wheels. Wheels are not something you should go cheap on, even if its made in the same factory you are paying extra for a company that will stand behind their wheels and you know have a good reputation.

Every wheel company I’ve ever used had testing standards I could look over. If they can show me the wheels I buy meet TUV standards we’ll talk…until then I’ll stick to places that do.

I work with a lot of machine shops in China (and the US) as an engineer. You can get some really good quality stuff out of China, but at a cost. If you provide specific specs, and QC requirements and require certain testing and validation, it drives the price up. In fact it sometimes drives the price up to the point that the US shops are now a cheaper option.

Eliminate the material certs, QC testing and inspection and you'll get absolute junk. But it will be cheap.

If something happens you don’t have a credible company to go back to.
