Hard to believe this video was released 36 years ago. The amount of talent that showed up was mind blowing. Had it not been a charity event, the price tag would have been astronomical to have that much talent in one room. In order for it to go off perfectly, as it did, everyone's ego had to be left at the front door. In my opinion, the following music icons were left out or couldn't make it for whatever reason:
Prince, Madonna, Stevie Nicks, Linda Ronstadt, The Eagles, Paul McCartney, Elton John, The Bangles, The Go-Go's, Pat Benatar and Joan Jett.

Still as powerful and relevant today as it was when it was written 36 years ago by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson.

10 years ago they did a remake for the Haiti earthquake. The talent wasn't up to par with the original. Justin Bieber attempted to replace Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder in the opening lines of the melody. Bad idea, no one can replace such an iconic opening by two legends. They missed the mark on the remake and it just proves there are no more superstars or legends in music today like there was this was recorded.
