Lots of really good oils out there. Motorcraaft, Mobil 1, Quaker State, Penzoil, Valvoline and AmsOil all market top-notch products. I prefer full synthetic. Amsoil is in its own sphere when it comes to recommended intervals, and it's one I can't buy in to, it just doesn't make sense with as frequently as I want to change my oil.

I've watched a lot of the comparison videos out there on oil filters. I think the Motorcraft filter is a decent cost/performance filter.

I'm a firm believer in frequent oil changes. Having owned and followed the 3.5L Ecoboosts for years, think the ideal change interval should be about half of what the manufacturer recommends.

The 3.5 Ecoboosts have all kinds of timing chain and phaser issues, they are more or less to be expected. That said, the repair intervals seem to be much longer for the people that change their oil often.

Stick with a Full Syn oil that meets Fords WSS-M2C961-A1 spec. I agree with Gearhead that there are several great oil brands that will do the job. I usually stick to the Motorcraft filters but I have used Mobil1 and K&N filters without issue.

I have been much more concerned with the interval and the oil level than the brand. Make sure you change it on time and watch for oil consumption.

Any full syn leading brand is fine, mainly if you stick to 5k intervals. My local shop charges about $80 and does a full syn-valvoline, uses a good brand of filter (I can't remember the shelf name, but I looked them up and they build other good filters), and includes tire rotation.

My ecoboosts and coyotes were 5k like clockwork. Ill be doing my 1k mile next week on the new ST, and then 5k after that.

Doesn’t really matter, as long as it’s full synthetic. I use Motorcraft.
