Im new to the newer ford family. I was nervous about my wife getting her 23 explorer st awd cause of hearing nightmare stories. But she is just using it as a daily driver, not beating it or doing any mods. I guess im just wondering about everyone's thoughts about the vehicle as a whole and transmission. What are we to expect out of this suv?

Purchased my wife’s 2023 new and it’s been a good running vehicle. Only issues I’ve had was sway bar end links making a clunking sound so dealership replaced under warranty and also the struts.
Minor paint flaking on the edge of the mirrors which I’m waiting for ford to schedule to get those repainted.
Other than that it’s been running strong.
17k miles.
Welcome!!

Well, since we are still in the infancy phase of ownership, she did get the extended warranty on it, so I hope that adds a little more comfort to ownership. Like I said... its a daily driver and other than the family vacation to myrtle beach 2 times a year, we aren't going to change anything. Any thoughts about maybe adding a better airfilter?

Yeah I purchased the extended warranty also for peace of mind.
I added an AFE dry washable filter in my Explorer.

I have a 2023 I bought new, no problems at all. I came out of a 2020 ST, and the only thing was a warranty replacement on the battery after 2 years.

So long you keep up on normal mantnance and it hasn’t had too many problems in the past, you’ll be just fine.
