This is just an opinion and not based on any facts. Here are the things I like and dislike from my 2020 to my new 2026 ST. My 2020 served me well until 77800 miles when #6 rod bearing let go. yes the vehicle had all recommended service and all oil changes were completed with out fail. I had a Ford ESP and it was covered but I felt I wanted to try a new ST so I traded it in for the 2026.
Screen: I like the orientation of the 10 inch screen in my 2020, but the sync system was sluggish and sometime got stuck for a bit. The 2026 is very snappy and crisp. If I had to choose a winner the 13 inch screen with the android in my 26 gets the win
Climate Controls- I hate that I have to go looking for something as simple as changing the heat of A/C and or fan speed. I don't like having almost all controls left up to a Tablet! I felt the 2020 was more friendly! winner 2020
Seats- I like the comfort of the 2026 with the suede and leather combo. But I feel like the 2020 just cradled me better. perhaps it will just need broken in. Winner to be determined
Appearance- The 2020 was the street pack so it looked very much like any other Silver explorer but with ST badges and the upgraded exhaust. The 2026 is Black with the grey wheels and red calipers. overall I give the win to the 2026
My 2020 just felt like an old glove just right, perhaps its because I bought it used and my 2026 is brand new. I like the 2020 grill better but overall I am liking the 26 very much. the ride quality is great and the steering is tight and smooth. not a fan of Blue Cruise but I am trying it since I got a year and 90 days free.
I miss my Thermal R&D exhaust very much and I have to wait for them to release the new version for those of us now suffering with a GPF (dumbest shit ever to put on a car) I only have 300 miles on the 26 in over a week of owning it, I have the get the front door glass tinted and I might put some light tint on the sunroof. to help with heat.
I will miss the 2020 but I am sure the 2026 will fill any void I might have once I get some mods done to it.
