I have a 2020 Ford Explorer ST and I am hearing an annoying clicking sound coming from the driver side footwell area any time the heat or air is turned on. As soon as I turn the climate control off, the clicking stops completely.
From what I can tell it seems like it is probably the driver side blend door actuator, but I cannot find a solid guide anywhere that clearly shows how to access it on the driver side. Everything I find online seems to be for the passenger side or for older model years.
Has anyone here dealt with this and can point me in the right direction for a 2020 Explorer ST?
I am specifically looking for:
-Photos of where the driver side actuator is located behind the dash or in the footwell area.
-Step by step directions or tips on what panels need to come off and in what order.
-Any tricks to make the job easier or things to watch out for.
If you have done this repair and have pictures or a quick write up, I would seriously appreciate it. This clicking is driving me insane and I would really like to fix it myself instead of rolling the dice at the dealer. Thanks in advance for any help or guidance you can share.
