I did a search on how a deeper trans pan helps the tranny. Besides giving improved cooling capacity, it reduces fluid foaming and aeration.
With a deeper sump, there is more distance between the fluid surface and the filter pickup, reducing the risk of the transmission "sucking air" during hard acceleration, braking, or sharp turns.
There was also a "note" ...
It is often necessary to use a filter extension or a specifically designed filter with a deeper pan to ensure the pickup reaches the lower fluid level.
Has anyone who's used the deeper pan also modified their filter to accommodate this area and does a new deeper pan offer this filter change or is that separate?
