ANd just to add to this thread. My wheel gets HOT. I usually turn it off after 2-3 mins as it's pretty darn toasty. I might try and knock it down from the default 35 degrees to something a tad lower.

It's ridiculous isn't it? Anytime i've parted out a Ford, if I'm not selling the wiring harness complete, i clip all the connectors off. It's crazy what Ford sells them for.
