Built Engine Update: Addressing Main Cap Instability in the Nano EcoBoost

Yep and my philosophy is the oem parts are the best parts until proven otherwise. I'm not about throwing parts at stuff without good reasons. Good example is on the 3.5l how everyone thinks the open deck is bad and does a css, yeah sure the css helps, but we are sitting at 880 awhp without one...

Built Engine Update: Addressing Main Cap Instability in the Nano EcoBoost

Here's another example Of A failure mode I didn't expect we would see Yet but this actually happened on a Stock turbo Explorer. The main Journal at itself actually cracked and separated from the block. This would have 100% resulted in a catastrophic (broken crank) failure if the owner didn't...

Built Engine Update: Addressing Main Cap Instability in the Nano EcoBoost

Yeah possibly but you have to take the entire engine out to be able to install the girdle. The block needs to be aligned honed after the girdle is put in place and torqued down and then you have to spec out a new main bearings. It's a process. Sent from my SM-S938U1 using Tapatalk

    **[emoji373] Built Motor Update! [emoji373]**

You kind of just contradicted yourself in that statement? You said all EcoBoost 3.0 l come as a 9.5 to 1 compression but then you said the Bronco comes with a 10.5 to 1 compression which is true but that is also a 3.0 L EcoBoost. The same ish engine as the explorer.... so yes the Bronco Raptor...

    New Explorer ST record! 10.30 @ 133!

Here is the current stock turbo record for an explorer st, note it does have the fuel system and upgraded transmission. There's a handful of other people that have draggy in the low 11s high 10s with stock fuel systemsand stock trans. But they are typically not full weight. There's an also...

Built Engine Update: Addressing Main Cap Instability in the Nano EcoBoost

Hypothetically it would but you would need a custom piston or custom rod to account for the shorter stroke and still get the piston to tdc Sent from my SM-S938U1 using Tapatalk

Time to Eat a Little Crow on the 2025 Turbo Setup... Upgrades in sight!

Well, I’m going to kind of put my foot in my mouth here—some of the assumptions I made about the 2025 ST turbo setup turned out to be a bit off. Full disclosure: there wasn’t much hope for tuning the 2025s until about a month ago, so most of the 2025-specific R&D had been put on the shelf...
