    Rude Awakening On Rims Today!

Pic is brutal. As somebody whose first car was a 68 Mustang death trap, I am amazed at the engineering and safety designed into cars these days. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Oil Life - Time vs Mileage

I change at 1 year if I don’t reach mileage. Since retiring I went from 40k miles per year to 4-5k. Lots of short trips are harder on oil compared to a lot of highway driving. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Wider tires?

Yeah, that wouldn’t bother me mounting on those. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Questions about recalls and build date

His vehicle, his boat, his choice. In my younger years I did a lot of FAFO. Fortunately there were no phones around to record my overconfidence[emoji23] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Voltage/battery management issue

Only time I had trouble with a jump start or a lithium pack starting was due to a bad battery. Like dead cell bad. I know it’s new and you had it tested but the symptoms sure look like a battery issue. Be nice if you could somehow swap with a known good battery. Know any local ST owners? Too...

    Voltage/battery management issue

Just did a couple tests with mine. Voltage is via Edge CTS connected to obdii port. Battery 12.6 before test at the battery with meter. Ignition on 12.0 dropped to 11.7 after 5 seconds. Cranking to start 9.7-10v quick flash on gauge After start 14.4 Repeated a few times with very similar...

My 2020 ST started knocking 2 days ago on morning cold start.

Locked up is not an indication of something minor. Could have seized a bearing or two if it had an oiling problem. Could have metal flake throughout the engine if serious. If really serious you would have a puddle of oil on the ground and a crack or hole in your block. Sorry to hear! Sent...

    Wider tires?

How wide is the oem rim? Michelin says they are good on 10.0-11.5 inch wide wheels.

Questions about recalls and build date

As somebody that has towed a lot with 2500 and 3500 dually’s I will say this. While I think my ST is a great vehicle it is a toy compared to my tow vehicles. Pulling a boat that weighs twice what the ST weighs up a slippery boat ramp incline would not be my idea of fun. Just my opinion. Sent...

Questions about recalls and build date

Agree with this. I’ve towed heavy for most of my driving career. It’s not something you want to mess around with imo. Had a few butt puckering moments. I’ve towed near the limits of my trucks and stuff definitely gets sketchy but you are talking doubling the rating. Might not hurt anything but I...

Question, has anyone thought of a way to display engine gauges on there display?

I know of no solution as you describe, sorry. I run an Edge CTS2 from my old diesel truck. Gives me anything I can find a PID for and allows me to customize analog or digital gauges. Funny you mention passing imports. I did a recent 2600 mile round trip with lots of night driving. Usually...

    Did the Lincoln screen swap

Just an fyi, I was told today that the Aviator screen is now on national back order through Ford. Must be some interest in the swap[emoji23] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Engine Oil

I go with any synthetic brand name. Not a huge difference for cartridge style. Usually Wix but any synthetic will do for me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Has anyone had an engine replaced under warranty ?

To me it would be all about the dollars involved. If you’re getting a great deal on the new and the buyback, I would strongly consider it. It will be all new. If they aren’t doing you any favors, take the free motor, and maybe turbos and keep yours. Worst case you have a new motor when you sell...

Mercon ULV ATF vs Amsoil SS Transmission Fluid

I’ve switched between Mobil1 and Valvoline synthetic for the past 40 years[emoji23]. Had a fleet of trucks with towing involved when I owned a business and always stuck with quality fluids and early changes for trans and gears. That seemed to serve me well. Yes, running the 1850 in the trans...

Mercon ULV ATF vs Amsoil SS Transmission Fluid

Looks to be the right viscosity. It’s likely good to go but Amsoil is not big on paying for rating approvals. I’ve used many of their products over the years with good results. Not currently running any Amsoil in the ST. Mobil1 oil, liquid-moly in the tranny, and valvoline synthetic in the...

    Did the Lincoln screen swap

Free shipping and lots of points definitely helps! Also direct from Ford may or may not be priority over dealer orders. I’ll make a bracket out of steel rod for where I want it and I ordered the Etsy lower panel but thinking I will need to improve on that. To be honest, I’m not sure why that...
