Sorry to revive an old thread. Did anyone ever find out what causes it?
I started the car a total of 4 times this morning.
1 - no fault
2 - fault
3 - no fault
4 - fault
I know this part helps with launches. Is there a noticeable improvement when just daily driving? I recently did the subframe inserts and could feel an immediate improvement even just driving around.
If you are going to the 8" vent pieces, then yes, you will need that utility box.
That area in the 10" version looks similar but has a dip down in the first inch of it. I still use mine as a storage area but it's not a flat surface like it is on the 8" version.
It sounds like installing these parts helped reveal a problem that was already there, but was being masked by the stock NVH levels. These parts helped amplify the sound and you were able to hear the issue after the parts went on.
If the noise is still there with the OEM parts, then the dealer...
Has anyone had any luck with getting the cracked DP replaced by the dealer while also having an aftermarket catback on it?
I recently installed a Thermal 3" and discovered in the process that my driver downpipe was cracked. I am still under powertrain warranty, ESP, and emissions warranty, but...
That sounds like the dealer really doesn't want to replace it. Did you get it fixed?
Did your pinion bearing show any symptoms when you had the OEM parts?
I messaged that guy but he never got back to me. I think his option looks great.
I'm happy with my ziptied screen into my 10" vents though. I just put my toll pass in that ugly gap since I have to have it on my dash anyway.
The trans dipstick is on the fill plug of our trans. Directly above it is the driver side floor pan pretty much. I don't see how we'd be able to fit a dipstick that can be accessed from the engine bay.
Spray it with some brake cleaner or degreaser and see if it returns. It looks like Mercon ULV (trans fluid) but I have no idea how it would end up all the way back there. Maybe you ran over a bottle of trans fluid somewhere?
I just put these in, was very easy. So far I've only taken it around the block, but I can already feel a difference.
Have you ever rode a skateboard that had the trucks too loose, and then tightened them? That's what it feels like now. Much better.
It doesn't look like it does, or they just didn't update their site.
I'd ask them.
I have a feeling they don't. The new tips are 3" diameter, not 2.5".
I cleaned it thoroughly with some brake cleaner and engine degreaser, it hasn't returned so far.
I think it may have just been residual oil from when I had the FADA leak addressed a few months ago.
Is there any way to allow the search function to accept strings that are 3 characters?
There are a lot of abbreviations that could h searched for, but since they're only 3 characters, it doesn't work. For example, TSB, BOV, CDF, etc.
