Aren't you running the BC Forged? Any reason for recommending the Super Forged?

    Predictions on gas prices

Ouch! Here in Knox, regular at Costco is 3.26 and Premium is 3.71. Other stations are higher, but I haven't seen $4 yet.

Focal, Mosconi, Illusion and Helix build

Is the impregnated cloth secured by tiny rivets? Or are those some other type of fastener? I've seen some fiberglass work before, but nothing like that! I would have expected hand shaped foam so that's not a technique I've seen before. In any case, impressive work and very labor intensive!

    Predictions on gas prices

Not sure why the smiley face- based on the energy content, you're paying the equivalent of about $4.00 a gallon. How much is gas there?

    Ugly License Plates

I don't really care about license plates, but since I just renewed, here are the new ones for Tennessee:

    aFe Momentum GT CAI

Let me rephrase this- The only impact on fuel mileage due to a CAI would be something that restricted airflow which would increase pumping losses. In other words, the amount of extra energy it would take to draw air into the combustion chamber during the intake event.

    aFe Momentum GT CAI

I hate to say something obvious, but a CAI has nothing to do with your gas mileage. The ST uses wide-band O2 sensors to ensure air/fuel ratios at all times. Now, if you had an extremely dirty air filter or you kinked an intake hose during installation there might be slight losses of fuel...

    Predictions on gas prices

The US produces 11.3 million barrels of oil per day (BPD). We consume 17.2 million BPD. We import from Canada 4.5 million BPD and from Mexico 700,000 BPD. We make up the rest from Russia at 595,000 BPD and Saudi Arabia 555,000 BPD. The junior high solution (current administration) is to slow...

    Speeding Ticket Today

That "Yeah, but I was passing him" didn't work for me either one time. Coincidentally also in Ohio.

    10r80 swap

Call me crazy, but spending $6k on "insurance" before you even have a problem seems a bit extreme, especially with a 5yr 60k warranty. Used 4x4 10R80s are available at around $2k. I'd research that option first. Internal gearing might be slightly different, but your transfer case and...

    Speeding Ticket Today

Having driven that stretch on I-75 near Lima many, many times, they don't mess around. I picked up a ticket just south of there in the 90s. Trooper gave me two choices: pay the ticket on the spot, or follow him back to court. I didn't have the cash, but he told me they took credit cards! He...

    Downpipes Upgrade, Worth it?

The factory cats aren't the same as those on cars from 20-30 years ago. They are not that restrictive. Second, the pressure between the exhaust valves and the turbine is WAY higher than after the turbines. Third, are you road racing? How much actual time are you spending at max boost at 5000+...

    De-cat tuning

The problem with old cats is the fur gets stuck everywhere, which limits hp performance.

    How-To: Ethanol Sensor Installation

For ethanol, you have to interpolate the required fuel flow from gasoline to ethanol. IIRC pure ethanol is 9:1 A/F ratio. I mean if you're that concerned, get a stopwatch, a gallon bucket, and connect a fuel hose to the fuel line. Start the stopwatch, trigger the fuel pump, and measure how...

    How-To: Ethanol Sensor Installation

The answer from that website doesn't really give any real information as to how they ascertained that number. The flow through a pipe depends on the internal diameter of the pipe and the velocity of the fluid. Just for grins, we'll assume your 500hp figure. That would require approximately 50...

    Downpipes Upgrade, Worth it?

It wasn't refuted because it was silly, and I didn't think anyone would take it seriously, nor am I going to argue across the internet with someone who has no idea. Do you know of anyone in the world, even in the racing world running no exhaust on their turbine housing? I guess they're all...

    DOWNPIPES WORTH THE MONEY??

Poster mentioned wheel spin- that would certainly affect the 0-60s.

    Downpipes Upgrade, Worth it?

Dual 2.25 pipe can flow that. Certainly the stock muffler components would reduce that somewhat. But if you're at 520, that's probably 580 or so crank, so you're pushing 600 with stock components. Check out my exhaust thread...
