I don't get that sound on mine. I doubt it is a fuel pump because there is no reason opening a door would run the fuel pump.

I would hope your dealer takes care of you on this. An alternator Starting on fire in not normal. The tech may have messed up doing the install. Good luck.

I would make sure to use a credit card that has great protection. I've used that a few times over the years and have never lost any money.

Which motor? I have seen posts that the 2.3L is a bit noisy.
