Has anyone done an Intercooler Comparison?

Definitely update the tune. You can now fully take advantage of your lower charge temps and make some extra power, especially up top. Your current tune probably has a lot of safeties that account for when the charge temps go sky high.

Thermal 2.5 or awe 3" exhaust....

I can't decide if I want the 2.5" or the 3". I am mostly concerned about drone. I have down pipes on the way. What was the difference between them?

    Single Turbo kit

Didn't Steve go with another builder (MA Motorsports)? He is local, I might run into him at a meet eventually.

The ULTIMATE Dyno / V-Dyno Thread

I looked up some captures of the Explorer ST on the Ford website from a few years ago, here's what I found: Wayback Machine (archive.org)

The ULTIMATE Dyno / V-Dyno Thread

    I think 3.58 is for the 2.3L, the 3.0L has 3.31. https://www.fordpro.com/en-us/fleet-vehicles/explorer/explorer-st/

The ULTIMATE Dyno / V-Dyno Thread

Cool, thanks! I'm going to try these on mine. Was your Dyno above on 93 or E50? Isn't the final drive 3.35:1?

The ULTIMATE Dyno / V-Dyno Thread

Does anybody have some settings to share for vdyno? I don't see the explorer as one of the options in vdyno 1.8.6.

Painted the ST on the seats

I changed my mind. I saw that you can feel it on your back. That would drive me crazy.

Painted the ST on the seats

They make a leather overlay for it now, I might try it out: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1741932479/ford-explorer-st-faux-leather-front

    Ebay IC

Just an update now that it's very hot out: Intercooler seems to be doing its job. I picked up a Cobb Accessport and have started tuning with Alan Jackson at Edgeautosport. Here's a datalog I took during a hot summer evening in the 80s, charge air temps were in the 90s during a pull...

Do you happen to have the part number of the leaking axle? Or the part number of the other side? I think Ford's naming convention means that a later letter at the end is a revision of the part. I think my axles that had leaking CVs ended in A.

I'm surprised this is still happening on 2023s.

    Oil life meter

My oil change interval was 7500 with full synthetic on my other DI, non-turbo cars. Never had any issues. I would prefer to go roughly 5k on my STs, as they are driven hard, and my kids nap in them a lot while idling. However, if I were to do an oil analysis and it came back looking good...

    Oil life meter

Gotcha. Unfortunately I idle the car a lot while my 1 and 2 year old nap in the car, so it probably factored that into the oil life, which is currently reading 0% at 4k miles since my last one.

    Oil life meter

Sorry to bring up an old thread. Is this oil life meter just based on when it was last reset, and mileage, or is it actually analyzing the oil somehow?

Interceptor amber DRL's on Explorer St

I think someone did. I saw it on instagram. It also sounds like @adamst1124 was able to.

2020 B build here. My passenger front went out in October 2023, my driver front went out in April 2024. Dealership replaced both under warranty, no charge. They also did my FADA o-ring, but not the TSB. Is it likely that they refilled the front diff, since some fluid is lost during replacement?

    Ebay IC

Here's a little video I took during a WOT pull to redline. I did several back to back. Temps would be about 10 to 20 degrees above ambient during the pull. https://youtube.com/shorts/RFuAKy-qUF4?si=X8GB5J1LfCzZQzyE

    Ebay IC

I finally installed the ebay IC today. It went pretty smoothly, nothing unusual for an IC install on this car. The only hiccup I had was that the supplied bolt for the MAP sensor was too short. I had a feeling that would happen when I compared the supplied hardware to the Mishimoto hardware. A...

    Leaking transmission

I don't want to speak to soon, but my leak seems to have gone away on its own. I'm quite confused by it, but I'm not complaining. I did do a trans filter and 5 qts of Mercon ULV back in November and reused the pan gasket. I noticed the leak in late April, who knows if it was leaking the whole...
