    Towing

Hi All, It appears my starter has given up and I have to get towed to a repair shop. Are there any specifics the tow person should know before moving this ST? Do they have to drop the drive shaft or any other mechanical disengagements? How do you put it in neutral without the engine started?

    Won't Start (Problem Solved)

Thanks, will do that! Good to know and I'll see if I can put myself in position to pull this starter motor and disassemble it.

    Won't Start (Problem Solved)

Just turned 71k miles. Has anyone had starter motor problems with their ST within that mile range? What were your symptoms?

    Won't Start (Problem Solved)

Ok, so here's another update! Yesterday when I found that the problem was the starter motor fuse, I jumped the fuse contacts with a wire to see if it would start. It did, so I waited till today to get the proper fuse. Figured I'd jump the contacts again and it didn't start. I raised the hood in...

    Won't Start (Problem Solved)

Thanks. Yes, I'm glad it was an easy fix although it took a while to find. A cost effective one too. I had all kinds of things going through my head. A new starter would have been close to 500 installed.

    Won't Start (Problem Solved)

In case anyone has this issue, there's been a few different fixes for this conundrum. It's a problem that's been reported in many instances where the ST all of the sudden won't start. In all the reports of those taking it in to the dealership, Ford didn't have a clue on how to resolve it. In...

    Won't Start (Problem Solved)

Hi All, Checking in to see if anybody knows of any no-start issues with the ST. Everything lights up, battery shows 12.3v. Still tried to jump it but nothing. All I can think of is a dead starter but other than that, looking for your thoughts on anything I might have missed. No previous problems...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Just got through flashing a 4th revision of a ZFG tune that enabled me to take advantage of the CRP Stage 5 turbos and CVF DPs. Took it out to log a couple of pulls, hit 2nd gear and blew the hot side pipe right off the turbo. :-O I'll have to clamp that down adequately tomorrow. The installer...

    ST Valvetronic Exhaust

I know this has been out for a while but had anyone seen this? Valvetronic mufflers that open and close by remote. You can even program your garage door opener buttons to control it. Go from docile to aggressive sound at the press of a button...

    Auto Stop/Start

I had gotten a tune which had the option to defeat the auto stop/start. Another poster here logged a driving test to see if it actually saved fuel. In their experience, it did not. If it did, it would be much less significant than avoiding the wear and tear of starting the engine on "every"...
