What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I met a guy in my area with a '22 that said he's running E85 with just injectors, no HPFP. Is that possible?

    Rattling

Ok, thanks! I'll attend to that. Pretty weak point in that price vehicle!

    Rattling

Hey All, I just developed a rattle from the flimsy plastic driver's seat border at the bottom where the seat adjustment controls are. Any experience with that and/or any fixes? Thanks!

    Throttle Lag

That sudden steering input and acceleration cause lag for safety reasons just doesn't make sense, especially when in sport mode. Sport mode even puts the shift schedule into higher RPMs so that it will be in spooled up range for power at command. That kind of driving characteristic is expected...

    Throttle Lag

In my case, I hadn't experienced any problems in turns. My lag comes from sudden full acceleration while in 4th gear and up. It is more prominent in normal mode and can be as long as 2 seconds before it responds. The lag is definitely shorter in sport mode. In 1st through 3rd gears, I get quick...

    Throttle Lag

I experienced this for the first time yesterday in the 2020. I was in normal mode and cruising along when I needed full throttle. I pretty much slammed the accelerator down and nothing for apprx 2 seconds and then it did what it was initially supposed to do. Disheartening for sure. Would be...

    Key Fob

I've not been leaving the backup fob in the vehicle thinking someone could just open it and drive away? I have yet to get the factory door code so I can't use that feature yet.

    Key Fob

So you're saying the fob has to be within 2-3ft of the vehicle for someone to open it?

    Key Fob

Hey All, I'm curious as to the range of the key fob. Not just in how far the ST will respond to your commands but how far away do you have to be wherein anyone could walk up and trigger the touch door locks? There are times when I'm working in a building but only 10-20 ft away from the vehicle...

Transmission Fluid Change - Should I or wait?

I guess your next purchase would be a private, in home mechanic! (nodding head)

    Good clean humor and jokes

I feel bad for parents now-a-days. You have to be able to explain the birds and the bees ... the bees and the bees ... the birds and the birds ... the birds that used to be bees ... the bees that used to be birds ... the birds that look like bees, plus the bees that look like birds but still got...

Transmission Fluid Change - Should I or wait?

Wish I had your diggs man! Got the tools and know how but no lift or appropriate area. I don't like needlessly shelling out that kind of money either. :-o

Transmission Fluid Change - Should I or wait?

That kind of confuses me. If you drain and fill, drive around and repeat, how do you know you're not dumping the half you just put in?

    Right?!?

Transmission Fluid Change - Should I or wait?

I see I am resurrecting and older thread but inquiring minds still want to know. :) I'm seeing 30 - 60K for trans draining in the 2020 ST manual. It seems draining and changing the filter is in more favor than flushing? Flushing appears to be quite a bit more expensive than draining as I've...

    Transmission Flush & Fill

That looks like a nice piece! Unfortunately, I am currently renting and have no place for it. Something to look forward to down the road. Previously, I had done all the work on my vehicles from doing brake jobs to pulling engines. In the meantime, I am at the mercy of outside help.

    Transmission Flush & Fill

One if the garages here used to rent their lifts which was a great asset. I enjoy the security of working on my own vehicles too. Ford had the ST to confirm a leaky cat and I'll have to bring it back but I was very concerned for the day they had it. Luckily, I could see and hear everything that...
