Playing around with some Carbon Fiber Wrap ideas.

i dig that. not sure about the red "explorer" lettering on the tailgate, but the carbon bits on the spoiler are cool. would be cool to see the front and rear lower fascias (the gloss bit) done in carbon... give it a bit of aftermarket diffuser look.

No CD player,. but flash drive

This is a really interesting thread to me for a strange reason. I'm pretty sure I'm the youngest user on here by a fair margin (at least from what i can tell) and I actually find being my own dj to be an incredibly frustrating and indecisive experience. I can only listen to music using pandora...

    Downpipe Install tips??

Hey Jim, the posters above are referring to removal/replacement of the downpipes. These are the section of the exhaust system which contain the catalytic converters and are in between the turbos and the mid mounted muffler. THOSE are a huge PITA to replace/remove. you are referring to the...

    I Went to the Dyno - ZFG 93 & E50

Everyone here is pretty much correct and speaking the same language--I admit that my analogy was overly simplified. Like everyone is saying; a 100hp dyno increase is a 100hp dyno increase. I think the point TMac was making is that the % increase claims or crank hp claims made by tuners (not you...

    I Went to the Dyno - ZFG 93 & E50

certainly not logarithmic but its also not a fixed value (i.e., 68hp) either. its more a baseline fixed value plus a percentage for additional hp added. the way to think of it is that friction isn't the only variable here. Rotational and fixed masses play a part as well. To spin a 50lb. drum to...

TRADE - 2nd Row Captains for 2nd Row Bench

According to this thread its possible. Looking into the details now but if its straightforward, anyone want to trade their 2nd row bench for my 2nd row captains? https://www.explorerst.org/threads/second-row-bench.219/page-2#post-14329

TRADE - 2nd Row Captains for 2nd Row Bench

    Second row bench

No way... I didn't think this was possible. Mind detailing for us what was involved? Side note, maybe we could either use this thread or the buy/sell to set up an exchange. I'm DEFINITELY in the market for swapping my second row captains for a bench with someone.

    Back from ceramic coating

I will echo this sentiment. I really think that if you go with a reputable brand (e.g., XPEL) and a product that actually requires curing, and you have a professional detailer do it for you, you will be very happy with your results.

    Back from ceramic coating

Nothing like some casual racism to cement my opinion of you as a dumbass. Did you figure after a day of storming the capitol building the thing to do was come on here and post?

Spy photos reveal off-road themed Ford Explorer

I'm more concerned with the fact that look made it out of the design studio... that looks like shit.

    Spoiler/Roof Wrap

thats actually @Nick P's rig. and its the spruce green, not silver. he painted the textured plastic body panels too. sick truck.

    Back from ceramic coating

For a truck our size, 2-year warranty is about $500 and a 5-year warranty about $1000 including labor.

    Back from ceramic coating

First of all... you what??? Second of all. REALLY??? you what??? Thirdly... for those of us who are unable to achieve both a) and b) (seriously... i'm still confused), #3 is a lifesaver and is most certainly NOT a gimmick. My truck looks clean and stays clean for MONTHS. And when it does get...

Did you purchase a GAP insurance policy?

Very true... I guess I was more emphasizing the huge length of car loans these days. With cheap financing people are easily getting into a highly depreciating asset for 72, 84, and even in some cases 96 month loans... at that point GAP becomes a necessity.

Did you purchase a GAP insurance policy?

100% Yes. It would be stupid not to. Especially in these days of 0% 72 month loans, you won't be above water on this truck for at least 3 years.
