Stalker alert. He quoted my 'connected and all-knowing' information right in his post (This will help you ---> Linky).

    Oil catch cans

That’s a generic message - have received it a few times. A phone call gave me different information.

    Oil catch cans

Well, since I should have apparently run it by you: got it lightly used for much less than its new cost. Figured I’d see if it would change my opinion on the product line. It didn’t. The Mishimoto kit coincidentally came out at the same time and saved me from fabricating my own bracket. Easy enough.

    Oil catch cans

I have my reasons for not preferring anything by JLT - goes back many years. Enough said. Zero desire to bother with requesting longer hoses, which the kit I fit sorely needed. Good for you if you dig the stuff and get in your launches. I’ll get right on that typo correction…

    Oil catch cans

They aren’t ‘taking down’ the kit. I am. I installed one briefly on my ST - in a matter of minutes - and didn’t like how tight the hoses were. Simple as that. The plastic elbows I’ve seen snap in the Mustang community also turned me off to their products. More than once. The custom kit I have...

    Oil catch cans

They take about 5 minutes to install - not the point. The tight fit of the hoses puts stress on the plastic elbows, which I’ve seen break in Mustang applications. Was happy to just pay a bit extra for the Mishimoto kit with specific custom hoses rather than spend the time fabricating a bracket...

    Oil catch cans

The nice thing about the Mishimoto can is that it uses custom molded hoses and aluminum fittings. With the JLT, it's a tight fit with the supplied hoses and you have plastic fittings that could easily break. The reality is, however, that anyone can buy a generic can for around $25, fabricate a...

    Explorer ST/Timberline Part Swap

The differential used is close to the Super 8.8 in the Mustang, and to the best of my knowledge, the Torsen uses the 34-spline shafts. For a swap in to an ST, it could be easy, especially if you have the entire carrier (would be nice if Ford Performance would offer that some day, so I’ll mention...

    Explorer ST/Timberline Part Swap

…with one of my original points being that the smallest diff Torsen makes for Ford is an 8.8.

    Explorer ST/Timberline Part Swap

Yes, that is under a Timberline. And no, the rear sway bars are not all the same sizes. The ST/Aviator is 21.7mm, the others are 20mm, and the PD is 23mm.

    Explorer ST/Timberline Part Swap

I know the difference, hence my comment that Torsen does not make them for Ford smaller than 8.8. If it helps your curiosity, here’s a couple pictures: 8.8. Same size rear sway bar as the ST, and this particular one has the thre-bolt cradle as well.

    Explorer ST/Timberline Part Swap

It’s right there in the Order Guide: 3.58. The smallest diff Torsen makes for Ford is/was 8.8. Have a T2R in my ‘03 Cobra and it rocks. Would be a great score for the ST.

    Oil catch cans

A rep I chatted with last week told me they should be shipping in the next couple weeks. Apparently they are on the way to distributors, for what that is worth.

That’s my post in the other forum. Glad it’s still plugging along and helping out.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

It's stated in the directions and should be obvious by looking at the picture of it installed. No different than the other axle-back kits out there, or custom replacement of the mufflers.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

I did see that, but this shows the 304 tips anyway. I'm not worried about the main pipes or muffler body since it's probably on par with OE gear. My former '14 Explorer Sport has been through seven Ohio winters and still has the factory exhaust on it that shows no signs of quitting. With this...

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

It’s a bit vague, but I’m confident they are using all stainless. With their warranty, it shouldn’t be an issue. Glad you found the kit that works for you in any case.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

All the info on their site, including the graphic on the previous page shows T304. The difference obviously being the tips: polished vs. ceramic coated.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

^It's a nice kit. I personally just had better things to spend the extra $1100 on. To each his own though. My flex pipes are still perfect, so I'm not worried about them. Same with the DP's. No concern for the factory tubing since the OE stuff is quite durable and long lasting. I'm sure the...
