    My understanding is the only explorer that has an auxiliary battery in the rear is the hybrid version. And as @GearHead_1 stated that is not sold in the US.     Whirling Noise at High Speeds

    Check underneath for a loose sound deadening panel. it's a common issue for those to be missing one of more of those silly plastic fasteners. If you do it yourself and find one missing, a M6 nut with a flat washer is the fix. Or you can take it back to your dealer and have them do it. Good luck.

    That is your opinion. They do not increase mileage as some say but the do breath easier. And instead of replacing just clean and reinstall. Why do so many race cars run them? I have one in my ST and have not had to touch it after 39K miles. How many paper filters would that take?

    Auto start/stop question

    A good chance it is the battery state of charge. Try resetting the BMS to see if that helps. i did that to mine about a year ago and it helped mine. Battery will be 6 years old next month.
