Ford Performance Parts for 2020 Explorer ST

There may be factory tune limits that are result of the size of the turbos, cooling system, exhaust, fuel system, etc. We know that the Raptor produces 450 HP with an enhanced twin turbo 6 set up and wonder if the engine bay in the ST is cappable of similar upgrade fron From Ford. Probably at...

    Road trip planning: MPG

Nothing wrong with 91, only top level octane available here and ST runs fine.

    Rear A/C vents

See if your rear a/c is on when you check on screen. Hit the rear a/c button on your dash and it will come up on the touch pad. The fan and temperature bars will show if it is on. Mine some times is not on when I start out and has to be set onscreen.

Anyone else getting crazy good mpg?

No 65 speeed limit or greater here. 50-55 avg allowed limit gets me around 25 mpg on a regular basis. City and suburb driving gets me 17 mpg. in normal mode.

    Sun roof leak?

I had this issue with my 2014 Explorer Sport sun roof leaking. It affected a lot of electronics as the excess water travelled down to the electronics on the drivers side dash. My window washer and wipers would suddenly activate and not stop until out of washer fluid. Then the radio would...

thoughts on potential purchase (or deposit on build)

I have learned that I never give anyone at the dealership my car keys or license until a final deal is made. You cannot leave without those items in their hands and they do not want you to leave until a sale is closed. If the old car is a trade in, I go out on the lot with the sales person...

Pro and Con of a black or white model

True or boards and kayaks. Those large black foam pieces on the cross members get mistaken for police vehicle roof lights. From distant views, the white models can be perceived as a cop SUV and there is a noticeable difference in driver behavior until the vehicle comes closer into view.

Pro and Con of a black or white model

False perception improves if you have cross braces with foam protectors with the roof rails. Large grill guard helps also!

    ST COUPÉ

And now the the Ford Lightning will be an all electric F150. At least the name is electric.

    ST COUPÉ

Hard top and coupe designations get confused with cars. A century ago, a hardtop was a two door car with rear quarter windows that could be opened for rear passenger ventilation (like the classic Mustang hardtops o the '60s) A coupe considered a sporty version of a hardtop, usually with sloping...

    Official Curbing Thread

I have the tire and rim insurance package also due to lessons learned with rim scars on my 2014 Explorer Sport special wheels. Now to decide when to get them done and to try get a couple extra rims from someone getting rid of their original ST rims. I did that for my Sport and got good deal...

    Oil change schedule

It all depends on type of driving and type of oil. More frequent changed or hard driving and of-road use and or blended oil. I do full synthetic on Ford VIP (paying only a little extra or full synthetic over blend) every 7000 to 10,000miles, or once a year for me. I have been doing this with...

    Window tint %?

Yup. Regulation is based on police being able to see driver and passenger so total tint percentage, factory and additional tint, on front sides cannot exceed 35%. No additional tint of front windshield except three inch top eyebrow. I mention this as cars brought in from other States, even...

    Interested in ST feedback

Had a 2014 Explorer Sport and though it was the best one that would be a long term keeper. It was the most fun Explorer ever, having owned a 1993 XLT and a 2006 SLT. But the 2014 started having issues with leaking sunroof, electrical accessories frequently failing, power seat problems and...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today
