Question About Snow Tire Fitment on ST

The diameter change of the tires does matter in the speedo measurement.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

I'm not familiar with Gibson Performance, but I literally cringed reading their advertising: Gibson Exhaust Systems are designed and Dyno tuned to get the most out of your vehicle. Minimal interior sound with maximum quality of sound outside. The styling, quality, and sound check off all the...

    Rear end damage

I'm sympathetic in the case of anyone who has a failure of a component on a new vehicle. I'm also certain that during the pandemic some shortcuts might have been taken, but I'm a little concerned that we; as a community should start supporting class action lawsuits and provoking fear about...

    Rear end damage

I wouldn't be concerned about towing with a stock ST or Platinum with the single bolt rear subframe. The examples of breakage on this site were tuned, and I'm pretty sure were doing hard launches. However, if you are adding an extra 100 hp and planning on launching hard, then you should be...

    Port injection

I'm not a big fan either, but- if someone is willing to deal with keeping the tank full and can find a good placement of the injector, there's bang for the buck in a pump gas situation. For example, one wouldn't need to upgrade their intercooler (not that I'm a fan of that either). Assuming...

    Port injection

You could also look at the various methanol injection systems. A heck of a lot easier.

For those thinking about a "performance" exhaust system

I assume you've read my posts concerning maximizing heat retention and velocity, so exactly what theory are you basing this opinion upon?

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Nice! How did you happen upon those brakes? Didn't even know they were an option.

    2023 Ford Explorer ST

You're kind of sarcasm challenged, aren't you? !!

Headlights turn on while parked at night

I had this happen once. Turned the headlights off and shut down. Next day I set it back to auto and it's been fine ever since. A glitch in the switch?

Name ONE ST Feature others might not know.....

You could always remove the front driveshaft! I wonder how many codes it would throw? Seriously, the multi-plate clutches are controlled by the ECU, so perhaps ZFG might be able to disable it in one of the drive modes. Your ECO mode could actually be drift mode!

    Rear end damage

LOL, but hard to hook up ladder bars or snubbers to an IRS!

    2021 ST BOV

Thanks for directing me there, I didn't bother to listen. I hear BOV activity (at least in neutral)! Since Ford doesn't have the BOV in the 2021, that would beg the question of how are they dealing with compressor surge? But, it's easy to check. I'm sure ZFG has the wherewithal to track the...

    2021 ST BOV

Respectfully, I think you're missing the point. If the ecu uses a strategy of injector cut-out while holding open the throttle, there won't be a "vacuum" signal since the throttle isn't closed.

    2021 ST BOV

The other question to ask since the BOV is missing from the '21s (and according to @UNBROKEN is disabled in the ECU) is did the turbo change? I only mention it since the Borg Warner EFR series has a surge valve built into the compressor housing. You wouldn't use a BOV with those since it's...

    2021 ST BOV

If the ecu is using injector cut-out to control surge, there won't be a PSHH PSHH! https://www.explorerst.org/threads/2021-st-bov.2576/post-33735

    2021 ST BOV

I have to ask....why would anyone install a BOV on a vehicle that doesn't use one?

    Ford LED badge.

I think.....um, you should buy it immediately. Christmas is coming up, and your car needs presents too! Who wouldn't jump to buy a $200 light up Ford Emblem that might not fit and would require wiring?

    Rear end damage

Yes, I saw it, and posted about it earlier in the thread. That's why I posted "appropriate".

    Rear end damage

I'm pretty sure one could design an appropriate brace for these "single bolt" subframes that would work fine for a lot less money and effort than replacing the entire subframe. It just needs to be designed to limit the rotation of the diff under torque. Viewed from the side, the differential...
