Can Reverse Brake Assist Be Tuned Off?

I have an early build 2020 and the reverse braking used to turn back on after restarts but i tried it recently and it stays off now. Maybe Sync updates allowed it to stay off.

    Hard shifts

I've had harder shifts from 1-2 and 2-3 at times. Mainly when car hasn't warmed up. I did see dealer about it. they said shifting was normal but humored me and updated the PCM calibration as well as AWD calibration. unplugging car battery to restart trans learning can help. sport mode is...

ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

interesting that the bushings on the two bolts are different and oriented differently also. blaster9 says another owner on FB with one bolt had the same issue. 2 cases to me is enough to be a potential problem.

please see posts #44 and #46 of this thread. i agree, info should be moved.

ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

Yeah, good point about possibly a single bolt getting the old bushings and failing. I still think a single is not as good because it's not centered relative to the differential. The differential was probably designed to be mounted with the two bushings but they decided to save $50 and go single.

ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

Posted for quick visual comparison. Clearly, this change was intentional. Even the bushing in the single is different. I previously thought a 2021 would be getting all the kinks out of 2020s but it turns out there's a heck of a lot of cost cutting that was done.

ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

Thanks. Just checked my early build 2020. I have two bolts. Can't believe they would put just one bolt on some and not others. i wonder if that was intentional or by mistake. they really should recall the one bolt vehicles.

ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

What did you mean by this? Sorry to hear. Sucks that you've spent a good chunk of change on two different tunes. Unfortunately your RTD setup isn't worth a whole lot..$150-200. whoever buys it will need to buy new credits and tunes.

    18 inch wheels

Yes. But make sure wheel bore is correct. You can't use 18" rims from the previous gen unless they are aftermarket and you can swap hubcentric rings.

    Grinding noise from steering wheel

I would turn off the easy entry/exit feature in settings, and see if that noise appears. I personally have no issues getting in and out so don't like that feature anyways.

Need advice on missing interior components before buying

OK, it would appear your truck is missing the top big board and the two side boards/partitions. The lower board that covers the spare looks like its there because i can see the front plastic trim that's attached to it. I would definitely get the dealer to commit to replacing those. Get it...

Need advice on missing interior components before buying

You are missing the rubber mat then...but the side covers are currently being used as partitions. Take those out and place them on top to cover the side "bins". Also, I'd double check the part number of the mat. I have a hard time believing that would be $300+!!! It's a cheap rubber mat. I...

    Steeda rear spring spacers Question

Never got spacers with my Steeda springs bought and installed a year ago. Definitely not something you want.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

For me, I'm using wired carplay most of the time. It is just easier to use Apple maps and Soundy (SoundCloud app) from the phone and i need a way to easily use those while driving. Apple maps also complements the car screen with all the upcoming turns listed on the phone.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Thanks for the lead on the Pro-Fit mount. I attached a 17mm ball joint adapter so i could use my phone mount. Sits a little high but i prefer that to blocking the vent or popping out of the vent fins from time to time.

    Oil consumption? Problem?

I did mean 10k miles between oil changes (pretty much doing them when the car says it's time). Same interval when I owned BMW too. Plenty of people have tested their oil at that interval and it was fine.

    Oil consumption? Problem?

Mine is about a quart low after 10k miles.

    Transmission slippage?

That metal clanging is not good. Don't know what that is. Doesn't really sound like it's reving up during that but maybe you instinctively let off the throttle?
