Thinking about buying a 2020 ST

I consider 10/2019 early. That build might be put together a little better than early examples but as far as firmware and parts...probably no different than early builds. As another example, the liftgate will open with a mind of it's own sometimes. Sometimes stopping midway for no reason...

Thinking about buying a 2020 ST

Likely the camera is NOT fixed. Fix for recall #2 only was available recently...like within the past month. Recall #1 did not fix the blue screen for most. I wouldn't wait until after purchase to get things done. I find it a royal pain, and policy on loaners are becoming tight. Not sure...

Thinking about buying a 2020 ST

If I'm not mistaken, the problem transmissions were notable for a hard downshift from 7 to 6. Early 2020 shifted poorly and were better with later firmware calibrations. In fact, many modules had updated firmware that corrected problems. Ford even paid dealers to update them on unsold...

Wheel arch trim keeps popping out

    Great idea, thank you!

    D Pillar W/Speaker

I would not add more rear fill either. I think replacing the cheap ford drivers is a good budget play, as is adding the powered sub, but definitely do yourself a favor and sound insulate the doors if you haven't done so already.

Wheel arch trim keeps popping out

I keep bumping it back in but it keeps popping out eventually. Is there a fix?

Replaced cabin filter and found extra part?

You actually can see it clearly right behind the battery. I wonder if you can just reinstall it by taking the battery out for more room. Does yours have a broken tab?

    Exhaust smell

I thought there was a TSB for failed midpipe. Mine failed a while ago. Makes sense when it is rattling away that it will ultimately wear out. I decided to replace it with the Lethal midpipe than to deal with another OE midpipe. Much higher quality flex section and no rattle. Ultimately...

2024 Ford Explorer Interior Spotted for the First Time

If those are going to be the ST rims, that's not a bad choice.

    New ST owner

Any idea when your 2020 was built? Hopefully not an early build. As far as TSBs and module updates, the dealer will NOT just perform those unless it is to address a problem that you have identified. I'd check for 4 of the biggest problems with 2020s: cracked welds of the catalytic converter...

    Alignment Specs (Camber)

Unfortunately, many shops are lazy. when i first got my Steedas, the camber was off in the rears and the dealer said it was because of the lowering springs. Then Unbroken said a while ago that rear camber is correctable (thank you). The next time i went in I told the service advisor that i...

Upgrading the sound by adding a Sub and Amp

Find a new installer. If you are just filling in the bottom end, you just need to grab the signal from the stock sub to LOC/amp/sub.

    Rollaway Recall

At least, less than 4000 vehicles affected. (fingers crossed)

    Wifi w/o Buying Data Plan

I use a travel router. They are small, and are powered by USB. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07712LKJM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Catalytic Converters

You should not have exhaust smells in the cabin, period! If you do, tell your dealer and have them check, preferably when you bring it in for an oil change or other. They shouldn't charge you if you are under warranty.
