This happened to me at both 2000 and 4000 miles and a PCM reprogram/update fixed the problem and haven't had the light on again since now at about 12,000 miles. The dealer did the fix during an oil change visit while I waited.

This is a function of menu settings where you can select whether on auto start you have the last settings saved or automatic temperature adjustment. My 2013 MKZ with auto start had the same functionality so it is not an all new thing. The settings are on the center display menu.

Turning it to the proper notch was the way I corrected this issue on 3 or more occasions recently. I never touch the knob or change the setting from auto which led me to think that it was changing on its own.
