    4WD Fault Service Required

nice info WaferTech. It kind of corroborates one member's experience when codes looked like a faulty AWD module but the dealer came back and said the problem was so simple and quick to fix... a "connection" problem to the AWD module.

Installed a really slick LED strip - hope you enjoy!

Looking good. Got to believe that's kind of how the 2025 Explorers are going to come from the factory with. Here's the look on the 2024 Escape:

I installed a dash cam today and used the cigarette lighter ( fwd storage box) 12V is always on. What the heck?

If OP is not the original owner, maybe someone used Forscan to keep the cig lighter active indefinitely.

    Transmission fluid level?

Maybe because your car is 4 years old, they don't want to do much with it. That said, I brought mine to my dealer in 2020 and they checked the trans fluid level (may have even topped it off because it was high now). They also did a PCM firmware update. Much better partial throttle shifting...

    1.5 months old, doesn't start :(

New car or new-to-you? Telling you, an OBD2 scanner is an indispensable tool for all modern cars. For Ford, I'd recommend getting the OBDLink MX+ and Forscan Lite for Android or iOS.

    Transmission fluid level?

Yup, make sure the service manual is followed, otherwise any level is meaningless.

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

This is the pic Mr. Fireman posted (of his own mount?). Interestingly, it shows the new mount but instead of the "upgraded" bolt, that there is the old "SPF 10.9" bolt! Now if Ford really thought the new bolt (W720988S439) was "upgraded" would they have put that old one in there? Old bolt...

Removal of Diff brace for rear axel bolt recall?

That's a no-brainer. The dealer may even refuse to touch your aftermarket brace to do the recall.

new vs old: W720988-S439 on the left.

    Slow 0-60?

You need a Dragy or that other gps-based device. Otherwise it's meaningless.

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

The bolt is NOT upgraded. It's the same grade bolt, just a different manufactured one. I personally think there is no difference between the new bolt and the old--just Ford showing the NHTSA that they came to a "solution". People were pulling the old bolt out of the single rear mount and it...

any good phone mounts that suction to the back of the vertical screen?

Not sure what traits you are looking for. Mine is in the same vicinity as where you want it. It's a Pro-Fit mount that i installed a ball joint to and put on a magsafe charger for my iphone. It's nice for the portrait screen because it's right next to it and i can rest my hand on top of the...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

This pic is from the first reported failure in this forum by blaster9, July 2021: Looks identical to me but to be clear, this is what they put in after the failure, which back then was probably not a revised part for the 3 bolt. Plenty of people with early MY2022's have posted pics of their...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

Anyone have a picture of the revised bushing? The one Kevin posted looks like the original for the 3bolt subframe.

New guy with the same old awd issues

Yup. plenty of time. Since you have a 2020ST, you are going to want to update all the modules that have updates... maybe 14 of them? Make sure you have the time off and start early in the day. It seems to me the 2 day isn't 48hrs but 2 calendar days.

New guy with the same old awd issues

that IS the correct part. It is no longer an actuator--just an "intermediate shaft" that is connected always. This is the latest version--the previous replacement for the FADA kind of looked like the FADA but with the connector port taped over. Note that with this newest version, the old left...

4in Exhaust tips for stock exhaust

This is what I used (2 sets of 2): NETAMI 2.25 inch Inlet to 4 inch... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09Y2CDJ78?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share There is the brand name etched on it but just applied some high heat black spray and it's been fine since. You'll need a short 2-to-2.25" transition pipe. I...
