BEWARE: Driveshaft kaboom from emergency auto-brake

Well, you will want a more substantial brace than the $160 will get you. the 2/4 bolt subframes are not part of the recall and at least anecdotally, have not heard of these mounts/bolts failing. When I removed the two rear bolts on my 2/4 bolt last year, there was no sign of bent bolts like...

    4WD Fault Service Required

That's all well and good but if the TSB takes an hour of labor, that's a helluva lot better than close to $900!

    4WD Fault Service Required

The dealer is probably just being lazy. Looks like your vehicle falls in the TSB for grounding the harness to the AWD module. It's likely the AWD modules in the affected cars weren't properly case-grounded. It's still mind boggling how the AWD module isn't covered under powertrain for some.

New guy with the same old awd issues

Well done!!! you are the first DIY'er I've read about doing the FADA replacement. ...and updating modules to boot! Congrats! Just curious, did you do the rear camera recall? I'm wondering if that's a straight module update for a MY2020?

New guy with the same old awd issues

I'm sure you are googling possible problems. There should be no issues like that so I think something is going on that is not on your end. Just be aware that if you can't get it to work, call support when you do and they can credit you another 2 days for the license.

New guy with the same old awd issues

FordBoss me in one of his video doesn't do anything heroic. just supports engine with wood block and removes LH engine mount bolts after raising the left engine a bit. He loosens the mount to subframe points before tthat. Unfortunately he was working on a 2.3L where you don't have to remove...

2021 explorer ST pass side mirror replacement

By "no longer available", maybe they have the old part number. Ford revised the side mirrors late MY2021 that don't whistle at highway speeds.

How did you support the engine to remove the motor mount?

Wanting to change out my MBRP exhaust

Plenty of people with 4" exhaust tips on the OE muffler. Just cut off the fake tips. The two pipes out of the muffler are 2" in diameter. You just need to step up to whatever size inlet your tips are.

Sounds like your dealer doesn't want this covered under warranty!!

    2020 Ford Explorer ST

All depends on perspective. For the HP, i feel like the 21mpg is remarkable. The past 3 cars I've had were smaller and less HP with similar mileage.

    2025 Towing Capacity

i wouldn't be surprised if the new ST is slower. Seems like Ford is going all in on the 3 bolt rear subframe and the "retuned" transmission gives me pause.

    Oil drain plug leaking

I don't want to assume, but did you coat the O-ring with new oil before inserting it? Even though made of plastic, my experience is that they don't leak. I do vacuum extraction method now and probably have 70k miles and 4 years on my oil plug. No leaking. I keep telling myself I'm going to...

    Oil drain plug leaking

You sure that it's motor oil? If it's on the pan, could be your front axle disconnect actuator leaking.

How many miles did you put on your original breaks?

82k miles in 4 1/2 years on stock street pack brakes. It's the family car so sees a lot of miles on road trips but it's also my commuter car. I am super impressed with the performance and longevity. Last I checked, still have a decent amount of meat on the pads. Bought the parts for possible...

Master Reset, screen won't turn back on

This thread was around the time the previous Sync version 22251 was wreaking havoc. Make sure you are on 23188, the latest Sync version. If not go to the Ford owners site and download it to make an upgrade USB stick.

    Headlight Condensation

My driver's side was doing that. I looked at the sealant on the top and there was a break where it wasn't covering. I put some silicone sealant on there and problem was solved. Hope you find some luck like that.
