It keeps getting better and better, yall lol. With all the recalls and bullshit Ford has put us through, I am considering pulling out and going else where.
Dealership is closed today due to a holiday, but tomorrow my Explorer was suppose to be arriving. We will see if that’s true. My guess they will provide another ETA date, and if that’s the case, I am walking away from Ford. My tracker still shows the following so I can’t imagine it being on its way right now to the dealership.

First thing I will do... IF I ever get my ST is check the subframe and request a replacement if it's the inferior 1 bolt version. One recall at a time though smh

This forum has a lot of info from owners on this exact issue:
https://www.explorerst.org/threads/rear-end-damage.2602/

And I hope you're Explorer arrives on schedule... but as you say, I wouldn't hold my breath. My delivery window was 8/27 - 9/02. I emailed my dealership and they just told me my new window is by 9/20 and to "stick it out just a little while longer". These dates are not real plans for Ford, just random numbers input because it temporarily appeases people and keeps us on the hook longer than if they told the truth, which would be "delivery window unknown."

Yours is still in Chicago, just like the rest of us!

Lol. No idea what a Tellarite is, but the reasons that I want the ST are the power and the technology. The Pallisade doesn't have the power, but it has the technology. Considering how much I am on the road (easily 3K/mo) the driver assist technology is more important to me. So, in my mind the camera delete is not an option.
Trek joke :) Kia/Hyundai are traps, be very very very careful! I really would rather walk or be under house arrest than be caught dead in one of their products.
Double Bingo!

I already see a black ST with a 9/11 blend date headed to my dealer. My order was grey but hey... i can go to the dark side. Maybe it can represent my inner transformation while enduring all of this. I'll let you all know if I attempt to go this route and if anything comes of it.
Best of luck if you do get into the black one! So long as it isn’t spoken for, I think that you will be fine :)
I noticed prices bump up a bit since my order in March and it made me shake my head… just a pitiful thing to do givem the steady price year after year price hikes by Ford. I don’t like Toyota much but even they haven’t done as much on their pricetags over recent years compared to Ford.. industry practice aside.

Still no activity with my order, but I asked Ford Chat if the plant was applying the 360 fix to any vehicles, and they said, "Some vehicles that have not been delivered to dealership are in the process of being repaired at the plant. However we encourage you confirm this information with your selling dealership."

It could be BS, but I will believe it for now. I think the factory is fixing the March/April build dates now, and the big question is how many can they fix each day. Even if they fix 1,000+ a day, it will still take weeks and maybe months for some of us. Also, I fear the months-long "transport shortage/delays" lie from the dealership could ultimately become true, with tens of thousands of cars suddenly ready for shipment.

Based on the notification dates in the latest recall update, I am guessing the stop-sale cars on dealer lots will get fixed by 10/23. And everything on the road will have the fix available around 11/24. I assume Ford has to provide service actions with labor hours and costs before the dealers can start fixing anything.

The other potential hurdle will be the UAW strike deadline on 9/14. I'm unsure if this will impact the 360 camera fixers at the Chicago Assembly Plant, but with our luck...ugh.

This is semi good news at least but I won’t get my hopes up for the ST I put a deposit on sitting in the dealership lot. I deep feel for those who have been waiting months for their vehicles.

I told myself that I will just get the Steeda brace done and not bother with Ford doing surgery on the car, but my concern is not rustproofing or driving it through salt/snow with a winter delivery. The single bolt issue was a major concern for me and is an ironic punch in the gut considering a major fatal flaw is not being addressed for the 4-5 months that my car has now spent on the lot, but a dinkydonk unimportant thing that few give two cents about not working once in a blue moon is a concern important enough to screw us over with our method of transportation.

By today's standards, "My car might drop its rear end, need a tow, face piles of damage, maybe cause a crash at highway speeds" = less important than "OH NO! MY REAR CAMERA DID NOT LOAD AND I HAD TO LOOK TWICE!"

Now the thought of all of this and having to drive to the GTA for 4 hours each way to get the Steeda fix installed out of my own pocket is starting to piss me off and make me want my money back... ugh.

I have noticed some activity in getting some of these corrected, I noticed one that was built late April, early May that has been delivered recently to a dealership in Ohio, and I know of one that was built late in August and was at a dealership 3 days later, hopefully they will get more of these corrected and sent to the dealership soon.

This is encouraging. Did these models have the 360 cameras?

That is good news. If there's a dealership link to the April build vehicle, please share. This would be the first 360 camera repair and delivery we've heard of so far... so I hope it's happening. I'm in Ohio... maybe I'll go frickin' get it!

2023 Ford Explorer (in chicago)
Been following this thread for past several weeks. Here is my story. Spoiler: Looks like some potential good news for a few of us here is forthcoming.

I ordered the below Ford Explorer Limited on 3/27/23:
2023 Explorer Limited Intelligent 4WD:
  • 2.3L EcoBoost® I-4 Engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology
  • 10-Speed Automatic Transmission
  • Forged Green Metallic
  • Ebony Leather-Trimmed with Micro Perforated Inserts and Accent Stitching
  • 20” Premium Painted Aluminum Wheels
  • 301A High Package
  • Ford Co-Pilot360™ Assist+
  • Terrain Management System™
Since then, my experience has been the same as most everyone else on this thread.
Ford status page says it's been in production since 7/20. My window sticker says it was built on 7/19 and sitting in Chicago.

Here's the chat traffic I had with a FordChat representative this morning:

"Hey X, can you tell me the delivery status of my explorer and if you have any other information you can provide me regarding my vehicle and the 360 recall?"

"Hi, Steven! My name is X. Give me just a moment to read over your message....
I can absolutely look into your order for you!"

"I'd like you to look in your internal system. Not the one I see. The one I see says in production week of 7/20. When I've called before I've been told my vehicle is built and in chicago.
The window sticker reflects the same."

"We always use our internal system here, Steven so that won't be an issue."

"Awesome! what do you see regarding delivery date?

"So your general status is still the same, in regards to it being fully produced and located in CHicago still, but your ETA window is Sep-13-2023 - Sep-19-2023. Please continue to check in here, with your dealership, and by utilizing the vehicle order tracking website (link below), for updates on your order:
https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking#/"

"Thank you. can you give me any other insights? What's holding it up if the vehicle is ready and th3 360 camera is good?"

"Well from what I can see on my end there are no shipping delays, and your Priority code is actually as urgent as it gets with it being a 1. I believe your vehicle is now going through the standard shipping process. Since your priority code is so high it is very well possible that your ETA window can be moved up a few days, Steven."

"well that's fantastic news! When did the priority code elevate to 1? And would you mind explaining what (if anything) has changed over the past several days regarding this issue?"

"I see that your priority code elevated on 8/31. In regards to your 360 camera there is no blatant information. Were you informed that your vehicle has this issue?"

"I've been told that my vehicle is one of 20k 2023 explorers waiting in chicago.
https://www.explorerst.org/threads/...gree-camera-stop-sale.5925/page-23#post-78711
I think most of these explorers were affected in some way or another by the 360 camera recall issue."

I'm not sure why my Priority code got elevated. FWIW, I do remember having a very pleasant conversation on the phone with one of the Ford customer service representatives last Thursday. Honestly, all the customer service reps I've interacted with over the phone or thru Ford chat over the past few weeks have been awesome. I feel for all those people fielding calls from annoyed customers like us.

Personally, I'm optimistic that I'll get the vehicle soon. Regardless, it's too bad for all of us who've been stuck waiting. I've put about 16k on my old Lincoln MKT since March. When it eventually does happen, driving this new explorer off the lot will feel pretty fantastic.

FWIW, my experience with Bell Ford out of Arlington, WI ((608) 635-4383) has been exceptional. My sales manager and rep couldn't tell me what I wanted to hear in when I reached out to them iregarding the delay, but they were responsive and helpful and made the whole thing easier to deal with. They were great.

Best of luck to everyone. I'll keep you posted as to any updates regarding my vehicle.

Thanks,

Steven

Yes I believe both did! I know for sure the one built in April would have the 360 camera.

... it was at this moment that flight bookings and rental car reservations suddenly spiked in both Cleveland and Pittsburgh...

Wonder if it's the red one or if that one is on a stop sale

Nice. Thanks! Mind me asking how you know this was a build order that was fulfilled with the addition of the new 360 camera? I do not doubt you at all, just trying to illuminate this topic as much as possible! Very appreciative of the info. Hope you're right and it's all starting to move now!

Forgive me if I don't share the info on the specific vehicle, but I just found an ST built on 4/12/23 that is on the lot and apparently available for sale. Are some dealers actually doing the fix on cars on the lot even though they are not supposed to? Or could this be someones build that they could not take delivery of so the dealer applied the fix as a currently owned vehicle?

From what I recall, a temp fix was suppose to be released to the dealers on Aug 9th.

My ST got hit by lightening 07/19 so they had my ST for over a month. It was just fixed little over a week or so ago. They said they applied an update for the recall. I haven’t checked lately. I can only see the recall from a web browser on my puter. But was still there last week so…
Maybe thats whats been going on. My cam never was affected.
Only thing thats still screwy 2weeks after I bought it, my screen would get wonky like someone was touching it causing it to flip out.

This whole stop sale is nuts. People have become too reliant on tech. We have mirrors and eyes.

Great questions. And no worries on leaving out the dealership name. I didn't intend to start a frenzy lol. I don't know if dealers can install the new cameras or not. If they can, then the vehicle should be clear of the stop sale, right? I haven't heard of any dealers receiving new 360 cameras to install on cars on the lot. But we're right at the beginning edge of all this. I guess we will learn more every day and share with each other.

Regarding the specific Explorer you're referencing, whether it's one that's been sitting on the lot OR a build that someone abandoned, it would be one of the first to receive the 360 cam fix either way, if it is indeed sellable right now. So that would be progress.

I have been watching autotrader for last 4-5 months, seeing what new ones pop up, I have seen this particular one that is fairly close to me, it always had the factory photos, then over the weekend I noticed it had photos from the dealer, I called them today and the salesman told me it was available to be sold.

Awesome! That’s definitive enough for me :) thanks again for sharing.
