put your man pants on everyone, things are about to get real ...

The best tune for any NEW vehicle is the one that DOESN'T do this:

You want to tune your vehicle to mega hp or make costly radical mods? Fine
You want to feel "manly/important" by posting warranty voiding low ET's? Sad, but yeah fine.
You want to diss a factory backed tune? Not fine ... get your act together and grow up already.

I've owned my ST about 6 months. I've read dang near every thread on this site. I love the write ups and details that are available. I like the personalities too.
As an unbiased person, and one who has a son that is former army and now LEO, I don't think there is much diss about the FP Tune. It is what it is, and that is all posters are trying to convey. Yes its Ford backed, and has some type of warranty. It's great for us geezers who just want to dip a toe in the water and feel better about a warranty.
However, there are those who want more out of their ST, and that's ok. I am positive they all know the risks, it's part of the game, an understood part of the game.
So, it can void a warranty. Again, the men/women who are pushing boundaries have the money to break the cars if they want.
You do you, let others do the same. And maybe the rest of us can learn more about our rides.
Also, the humor page is no place for the drama. It's a fun place.

Way too much truth and logic in your post for the fire starter guy to accept.

Just make sure you read the warrenty information on the FP tune. It's not a cut and dry as you think, has to be installed by dealer etc. It's still your best bet if you want the warrenty, but you need to be aware of limits and stipulations.

https://www.autoblog.com/2023/05/15...-hellcat-tune-turns-into-a-36000-repair-bill/

The Hellcat owner whined on the Challenger FB Club page saying his warranty for a blown engine was denied because of a "mid-muffler delete."

That is, until Stellantis responded that their Calibration Engineer confirmed the vehicle’s PCM had been tampered with by non-factory software.

Reports are the guy has now gone silent and he's deleted all references to his initial "complaint". His 3rd party tune will cost him $36k.

A whiner and a liar, the worst combination possible ...

I take it OP has been living under a rock?

This has been a thing for the past 30? Years lol Tuning a car would void warranty if it was responsible for the damage.....

Also, after your original warranty is up with the FP, guess what, it will be no different than any other tuned car. If you buy Ford's ESP, guess what, your car could get its warranty void with Ford's tune as well.......

One thing OP failed to mention in the post, he had a shitty tune installed.... surprise surprise.....

I specifically asked my dealers service manager about this after buying the extended warranty and he said, "If the effected part or system is directly controled by the PCM then, yes, warrantied service "can" be denied. However, if a power seat stops working it would still be covered under the warranty". This was sent via email so I have it in writing. ;)

I can't tell of OP is just trolling at this point or he's really that dense. I want to believe its trolling but something tells me its not. At this point though since he blocked everyone here can he even see posts or is he just talking to himself?

Its always been like that.... See the magnuson act. Any mods you make that leads to a failure will not be covered under warranty for that specific area. It will not void your whole warranty, only whatever was affected from the mod

Just throwing this out there. What if. . . you get the FP tune installed and then installed a custom tune, can they tell the difference? Do custom tunes leave a recognisable footprint or can they only tell if it's been tuned? My thought is that if the custom tune saved the FP tune as "stock" and you returned it to "stock" (the FP tune) before bringing it in for service, can they tell the difference? If they can only tell that it's been tuned at some point you would have the FP tune paperwork to show it was tuned by Ford. Obviously, if the custom tune leaves a definitive trace, it wouldn't work. But, if they can't tell the difference, you should be able to retain the warranty. I know it's more money but if it works it could save you a lot if say the tranny went out!

Every single time you modified the ECU, the key cycle goes back to 0, so yes, theyll see something is off. If they dig deep as well, they'll see the parameters were different.

I mean in all honestly, why go thru all that just to have 3 years or less of warranty? The powertrain warranty will end as well since it was tuned with the FP tune. Once again, not all of this is described under OP's clown post. Your powertrain warranty will END either at 36 months from vehicle first purchased/serviced or 36k miles, it will not go to the 5 year original powertrain warranty.

If you add FP's tune in year 2.5/30k miles, you will only have the warranty for the next 6 months/6k miles, if you buy an ESP, it will NOT be covered if the tune leads the failure as well. Also not stated on OP's post.

It's 3 years/30k miles. Mine had 31,668 and it's a 2020 and it is out of warranty. That's why I had to get the extended warranty. I only got it because of all the electronics. I knew the tune would void the warranty on anything drivetrain related. The service manager told me that even the oil catch can could be a reason to deny service. Good thing about the extended warranty is I can take it to any shop that has ASC mechanics.

Third Party Tune = Engine Warranty VOID
Ford Performance Tune = 3/36 Engine Warranty INTACT

Anyone who opposes those two concrete facts is either a liar or they don't understand basic concepts.

Look, you want to a third party tune? Fine.

But don't pretend that forum members think FORD will cover your engine warranty if something happens. Nope.

This guy must be getting paid by Ford judging by the number of posts he makes raving about the Ford tune while shitting on any other product or forum members.

Pride induced denial runs high on this forum, thankfully, this form of irrational immaturity has only manifested itself among a scant few members. Lol
