Installed a really slick LED strip - hope you enjoy!

I found this on the Facebook group but wanted to share here as well... took about an hour to do it all, but not bad for < $40 mod - my wife LOVES it!

12V Add-a-Circuit Adapter and Fuse Kit (make sure your kit has the Micro-2 size)
SilverHolder Car Hood Light Strip White 70 Inches Exterior Car LED Strip Lights
3M electrical tape to hide the red at the edges of the hood
Solder Seal Wire Connectors-Marine Grade Heat Shrink Wire Connectors since they're easy to use with a heat gun

Tools Used
IRWIN Vise-Grip Wire Stripping Tool / Wire Cutter
SEEKONE Heat Gun 1800W Fast Heating Heavy Duty Hot Air Gun Kit

Without the rubber strip on the hood, the hood slams down on the light strip, right? Is that a concern? Is it possible to attach the light strip forward of the rubber?

The driver side doesn’t allow clearance but the rest of the hood has about .1” gap

Really appreciate you posting this. We just did this yesterday and it was super easy. I had the wife lay the light strip, as I "put on everything crooked". It looks so good. Thanks for documenting so well.

Where did you say you wired the black wire to ground? In the write up it says to a fender bolt, but which one did you use, the one write there next the headlamp?

Yes but you may be able to find a way to mount in front of it or raise the hood a little, right now there’s about a .1” gap between the hood and the led strip with the gasket removed
