Has anyone thought about putting a BOV on their ST? Boomba racing makes a bov that fits the ST. I'm going to be replacing the stock air filter with a K&N filter and throwing on the bov at the same time would make sense based on the location of the two. I'm still on the fence about doing it, thinking it will either sound great and tun heads or it may get annoying and sound too ridiculous for the ST. So, anyone have any experience or thoughts about putting one on theirs?

Here's a link the Boomba BOV

Here's some sound clips of it from Boomba

I'd say it's personal preference. To me....it's juvenile and annoying, this isn't a rice burner, but to each their own.

That sounds great! I hear there are 2 to replace, twin turbo. Did you replace both?

I was considering a vent to atmosphere (VTA) over the BOV, since I had a BOV on my Ford Focus ST and the turbo blew-up with only 15K miles on it. Luckily, this car was bought USED from a Ford dealership and the aftermarket parts were covered. With a VTA, it only makes a sound and should not inhibit the engine from functioning correctly. We all know a dealership will use any excuse to use this aftermarket part against us later for warranty work.

Your thoughts?

Only one BOV. Which I thought was odd with a twin turbo. The turbo smart BOV is plug and play. This one is set up to extend your turbo life span according to turbo smart technicians.

My thoughts is if you going to upgrade the BOV do it right the first time and install a BOV and not a VTA mod.

It has been 1200 Miles since I installed the BOV and so far I been love the dual port. The best part is it’s not annoying when driving as a daily driver.

That's good news.

Do you take it into the dealer for service? And have they said anything about it? I want to do this but I'm waiting for anything Ford Performance comes up with to not good Ford warranty parts.

I moved a few months back and haven’t really drove around with the virus going on. Just noticed it the other day when I was taking another route to work and when you kept on saying free, free and free. I was thinking this is the place for me unless it’s a weekend. Lol. So far everyone at Waldorf ford is nice and very helpful.

I only mentioned the FREE stuff after calling every couple hours for updates on the vehicle status. When I started interacting with the service department and offering Ford Service Bullietins to help diagnose issues, they started treating me a lot nicer. Then I dropped the ‘ask’ for fixing things that cost $$$. STRATEGY

Did you like the service there over previous dealerships?

Anyone get a Check Engine light with the install of the Turbosmart BOV? Had mine on for 3 weeks or so. All good and just threw a code tonight. I am going out to see which one. FordConnect App says it has to do with electrical and the turbo.
