I wanted to post a quick note about disabling the fake engine noise in our Mid-March build ‘26 ST.

I downloaded the latest version of ForScan and went into the “APIM - Propulsion Sound Setting” and disabled it. This appears to have turned off the fake engine noise and now it’s much quieter in the cabin.

I also noticed that ForScan reported our 26 ST as a

“Lincoln Aviator EcoBoost Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection 3.0L 2026 ( 2024 MY )”

I was still able to make the change and it seems to have taken. This may be old news now, but from what I was reading when doing research it didn’t seem like this should have worked or it should have been this easy.

Does anyone have any feedback about how I disabled the fake engine noise?

It was supposed to be that 2025+ Job3+ cars couldn’t get FENG to go away. Interesting you got it to go away.

It’s my wife’s suv, I changed the setting and took it for a drive and instantly noticed the difference. I came home and sent my wife for a drive, she said she noticed right away the fake engine noise was gone and how much quieter it is.

So I can confirm the setting change worked and I now have a happy wife. I wanted to post my success in hopes it might help someone else. Maybe there is a chance in the module for the 26 MY?

Thank you EdmontonST for the heads up and thank you to the good people at Forscan!

The FENG is gone from my 10/25 build that I could not get removed previously. In this build of Forscan, there are a lot more ezconfig options in APIM. Hoping this trend continues for 2025+ for the other modules.

Since I know jack and poop about Forescan. I do like this idea. What is the easiest way to use it? Get the SW and use a laptop plus an adapter or an iPhone and BT adapter? I would buy it just to cut this off.

If you have a windows computer it’s easiest to do it that way.

I disabled the propulsion sound yesterday and it seems to have worked. Or I am wishing it to work.

I prefer a laptop and a wired connection over wireless.

My 2026 also came up as an Aviator. I got spooked and decided to not make any changes. I will give this a go again soon. Do you know if we can also do the amber DRL in ez mode?

You need a windows laptop. It will work with a BT adapter like the OBDLink MX+ which will also allow you to use Forscan Lite (diagnostics and some service procedures). Some prefer the wired dongle OBDLink EX.

Is it the same procedure for the 2026 models? I know it can be done for 2020-2024 models
Don't be afraid to do it the address and numbers way. The procedure outlined by Nightshade for 2025+ worked for my 2026 no problem. The key is make sure to save the module config after you read it. You can always go back to it.

I did it the easy way in Forsaken on my 26 today and can confirm it worked. Now all I hear is the actual Thermal exhaust note from the back of the car. Although it seems like ANC is off too, not sure if that's really a thing in these, but Nightshade's spreadsheet seems to indicate it is. I'll have to check the As Built numbers and make sure that's still on with the B&O sound system, but it sounds MUCH more natural now.

2026 with a build date of Jan 2026 if that matters.

I turned my fake noise off for about 1 week, and then later turned it back on. I have a stock exhaust so nothing else to listen to, but I decided i kinda got used to it and didn't mind the FENG.

I got my exhaust so fast, I don't know what's real and what isn't with the windows up, so my motivation to disable it is low. I do think the amber running lights would be cool, though.

@Nightshade hoping you can help me understand the ANC settings before I mess something up. I just disabled FENG the easy way and it definitely worked. With the B&O sound system will enabling the ANC in the As-Built settings like your spreadsheet shows re-enable ANC but keep FENG off? I'm making the assumption that ANC is off as I can definitively hear the true exhaust note now and the overall cabin noise seems to have increased, unless it's all in my head?
