Mixed up my acetone towel and alcohol towel when cleaning off some oxidation on the top flat part of my headlights. Acetone immediately ate right into the top layer. Anyone know if a headlight restoration kit will fix it or am I SOL?
If it just took off the coating you can sand the whole light and repolish it. I would have them PPF coated after that over the aerosol clearcoat some people use.
The restoration kit did a good job getting rid of the top layer haze. However, the acetone caused deep cracks/fissures that caused permanent damage. Fortunately, its on the top part of the headlight and is only noticeable if you are looking for it.
