I didn't notice any added NVH after adding the JXB to our 2023 ST
the JXB was installed with the cp-e rear diff brace and our diff bolt and pinion bolt upgrades

Installed the inserts and did have increased NVH but found it was caused by worn pinion bearing that was not noticeable with the un-reinforced/soft OEM bushings. This is an issue found by several individuals who installed the JXB. Not the fault of JXB! Great product and easy install! Highly recomended.

Where was your worn pinion bearing? I installed the JXB rear insert and Steeda subframe bushing support kit at same time. Now I have increased NVH and a much more noticeable clunking noise between lower gears and stop & go. This clunk existed slightly before but I thought was normal as it’s existed for the entire existence of owning this vehicle when I bought it used at 36,000 miles 3 years ago. I know Explorer’s are known for excessive drivetrain slop.

Do I just need to add the JXB drivetrain carrier support bearing to compensate for the added rigidity of the rear differential and subframe? I’m thinking that would help, BUT I need to know what is involved with inspecting/replacing a worn pinion bearing. Where was the location of yours? The clunk is concerning. Again, the clunk existed before the install, and I’ve had the rear subframe and rear differential bolt and bushing replaced under warranty AND recall. Point being, I don’t think my problem is coming from behind the driveshaft.

(I have the 3 bolt setup btw, I know 4 bolt owners claim to have had increased NVH with the JXB insert. Personally I think the insert isn’t the problem and that the actual problem is being amplified due to the increased rigidity of the rear end)

After my JXB insert install I noticed a whine, almost grinding sound on deceleration. I replaced my rear end with a low milage unit and the nose went away immediately. I drained the fluid of the old diff and saw a ton of gold flake. I'm sure the diff was eating the pinion bearing and it wasn't noticeable until the inserts were installed.
