My issues with FORD and the ST.

I just had my ST camera replaced and it has worked fine for about a month now. You should be able to get it done at the dealer if the part is available

Softening the ride on an ST?

Hi all, - I know I should probably appreciate the sporty tight ride feel of my 2020 ST but it's such tight suspension that it's not pleasant for just driving around town - especially rolling over bad pavement. I knew at purchase it would have a tighter feel, but the other pluses of the ST far...

    Platinum Suspension on ST?

Slow reply here. Just found the thread searching the topic. I have an ST and I too find it's too stiff and harsh a ride for the regular daily driving I do. Did you find any solution? I'm looking into it and don't know the first thing about it.

Autostop eliminator or Forscan it away

Yep, +1 for muscle memory. The first month I had my Explorer I strongly considered spending the $100 for the AutoStop eliminator but it quickly became habit without even thinking to press the button to override it. I'd say save the money and install hassle and just commit yourself to a muscle...

    Finally Got Mine

Not that I know of, but I would be curious if there's an option anyone knows of. I think it sounds realistic but it just bothers me on principle that it's a fake noise.

    Hello!

Congrats on the new ST. My experience; no issues mechanically and nothing like that idle/rev you described. The new drivetrain is terrific - assuming it lasts a long time. Only issue we had was the back-up camera feed sometimes turning into a useless blue screen, but it's rare and it's a known...

    Finally Got Mine

Congrats! Black is slick. What do you mean by that you hate the exhaust? The artificial sound piped through the speakers?

    Thule cargo box

I leave thousands of dollars worth of skis and snowboards in my roof box all winter and I don't worry about it. Everyone else in ski country with a box does. The built in locks are really solid and you can't remove the rack without getting through the locks and opening the box. You can't break...

    Thule cargo box

Roof boxes are very useful. Our family has had one on our SUVs for many years. The attachment / clamping systems have gotten so much better. The two photos below show an old 15+ year old Thule that was a giant PITA to take on and off. When we got the new Explorer ST to replace an ancient year...

Base ST to be rear wheel drive for 2022.

Probably not a bad way to save some money for folks that want the ST power but live in places that never get snow/sleet conditions where AWD is very helpful

Metallic gray replaced by carbonized gray

This isn't big news and it's nearly a year old now that I've looked into it but I noticed recently that a new "carbonized gray" color for 2021 has replaced the metallic gray color offered with the first batch of 2020s. I think it looks terrific. It's lighter than the earlier metallic gray...

    Back-up Camera Issues

My back-up screens have occasionally gone blue. My Ford phone app recently notified me of a recall: "2020-2021 aviator, explorer, corsair: rear/360 camera IPMB blue screen" So that's probably it.

Post your favorite pic...it’s a show off thread.

I really like the way bright light / bright skies brings out the beltline horizontal body angles in the new Explorer. The beauty of that beltline body work doesn't get enough credit in trade press and the SUV wars. Future classic

    Well this is interesting

I have a 2020 with the captains chairs second row. I agree with OP that the removal of the console is probably to make access to the third row easier. Makes sense. Probably a good idea. The 2nd row center console mostly offers two cup holders and since there are cupholders in the doors, that...

    Carbonized Gray, Black out build

Looks great! I found this thread with your car as I was searching for examples of the new carbonized grey color. I was first in line getting the new ST in late 2019 when it first came out and at the time I was torn between the silver and the metallic grey. I chose the metallic grey but I wish...
