I was under the car this past weekend changing the trans fluid and the pan. I feel a bit more confident with doing it now. Shouldn't be too hard to get the heat shielding off.

Will I have to lose this bracket that mounts the DP to the car? Or can I cut a few inches downstream of that and still be ok?

Just a follow up on this. I replaced the Vibrant bottle style with their ultra quiet. For me with DP’s and a thermal 2.5, it was just to loud during normal driving. Sounds significantly better now imo. Stoplight starts don’t sound like I’m racing all the time but still a great sound when I get on it. FWIW, downpipes add a lot of noise to the exhaust.

100% this. I followed their lead with the Ultra Quiets from the start when putting downpipes on my 2.5" Thermal and couldn't be happier, it's perfect for me too. Side note, they do seem to "burn in" a tad in the first few hundred miles and get a "tad" louder, IMHO to a "perfect" level.

That is a nice looking solution, I hope that I will be able to just run the Catted DP's I have along with the AWE I just bought, and not think it's too loud, but nice to know this option is out there. I've always had aftermarket exhausts, and my other car is incredibly loud, so hopefully it's tame enough. I do enjoy the intake and BOV sounds with the nearly silent stock exhaust, though.
