This is all interesting, I’m finding no one cruises in eco on road trips? I’m strictly eco until someone is reeling me in quickly, or a mustang pulls up last week in Seattle I was going from I5 to I90 and there was a bmw bangin and popping behind me through the tunnel, so I said it’s on…… I won LOL I also bagged my buddies widebody redeye. I only ask because I am recently driving between Northern BC and Phoenix AZ weekly to visit my wife until I can find work and get my green card! The sad thing is, I almost spend more on fuel driving in Canada for 5 hours than I do in the States for 20 hours……
I sure hope you can get your "long distance relationship" resolved with a job/green card. There is a big difference in doing what you are currently doing weekly vs a freeway road trip. Best wishes, my friend.

I hate Eco, even with adaptive cruise. It takes forever to get going, leaving gaps for other cars to jump in. If I were that worried about MPG, I would have gotten an Explorer Platinum with the 4 banger. Just my 0.02.

I've tried using Eco on my adaptive cruise stop-and-go trips home from work. Can't do it.
I looked into it and the 4 banger only gets like less than 0.5mpg better if I remember right

I think higher mpg would just be a symptom of my skinny foot doing less in the 4 banger lol.

Oh yeah, we’re good, she’s from down here but lived in Canada most her life, but Canada is hard right now, we’re losing all our rights and freedoms almost weekly now. I’m fortunate enough to have a work schedule that lets me do this with tons of paid holidays, I would fly, but flying is way more expensive believe it or not

I used Sport for the first tiem today, the whole way. It drives so much better than Normal. Half my drive is over 60mph, so it made 10th gear anyways. The engine braking when coming to a stop isnt nearly as aggressive as my Edge ST 6 speed. The 10r60 in mine has been a smooth shifter so far. Ill start watching what my MPG's do lol

I also get approx 13 -14 MPG, 100% Sport mode, stop and go surface streets.
Are you on E? That’s pretty low.

I get about 23.5 on the open road, through SLC it goes up to 30+ some how at 75mph
Sport mode 100% of the time. Went on a 100 mile round trip drive this past weekend, bumped it up to almost 15 MPG.

For me, thats about right. Usually what I avg on the street, stop and go traffic. E20~ mix or 91 gives me similar gas mileage.

Highway, ive gotten close to 400 miles on 17~ gallons

I’m in sport 99% of the time, and usually get around 22-23 with my heavy foot on two lane roads. Around 18 around town in Sport, when I am careful I can get up to 20. I still do have a really heavy foot.
My average speed around DMV traffic is in the low 20s MPH so I'm averaging about 17 MPG. On a road trip, with no traffic, cruising at 75 MPH I get at least 22 MPG.
