Velgen VF9 22x10.5

I finally pulled the trigger over Black Friday and snagged the Velgen VF9 set in 22x10.5 for $2500. Gloss black. I originally wanted the V2, but without a BBK I figured it'd be sorta ugly.

I am trying the General G-Max AS-07 in 305/40. I haven't mounted them yet, so we'll see about rubbing. I prepped the wheels and ceramic coated them too, using this process:
1. Adam's Strip Wash and P&S Brake Buster
2. DA polish with 3D One
3. Adam's Surface Prep
4. Carpro C.QUARTZ DLUX

Honestly, I kinda regret getting these and instead wish I got the V2 that I originally wanted, but I think I'll cope. They seem like very nice wheels.

for sure. I drive my kids in this ride so I can’t accept any tire issues. We get a lot of rain where I live, so I’m really gonna focus on how they perform in wet conditions

$1100 for the tires (a bit less)
$100 or something for the TPMS

Finally got time to mount these bad boys. Honestly, not sure that I love them, and wish that I went with the V2 Classics. But they seem like quality wheels. Definitely some rubbing on the fender liner. I only drove around the neighborhood for a few minutes, like 35mph max, but road noise and comfort seem pretty comparable to the factory 20" so far.

Vehicle is very dirty at the moment. But gloss black is definitely the right choice with this ride. Last comment, I have the Steeda springs, and while I do like the rake, it doesn't look good with these huge wheels. I think someday, if I get the time and gumption, I'll switch to H&R.

Well, sir, it's been half a year. I drove through every inclement weather condition that we can expect in my area, from some inches of snow, torrential downpours, cold and wet wintry mixes, high winds, etc etc, and I do have to say that the General G-Max AS-07 are very high quality all season performance tires. I've never lost grip, and I've never felt the ST wander.

I absolutely do not drive hard, but I'll bang an on-ramp and push a sweeping turn. I wish one of the more serious forum members would give these tires a try. It's a shame that they don't make them in 305/35/22.

PROS:

• Cheap
• Grippy
• Great wet weather handling

CONS:

• Sidewall styling is kinda meh. Doesn't look terrible, but also doesn't look sexy like the premium competitor that they're trying to displace (e.g. Michelin Pilot Sport AS alternative)
• Loud ---- now, I have no way to actually judge this, but I hear them more than I remember hearing the 20" Michelin Primary Tours. Not surprising, but my Michelin Pilot Sport AS on my Mustang are whisper quiet, and they're relatively similar size and the Mustang has basically zero sound deadening

For the price, they're hard to beat IMO

I am almost 10k miles into my Atturo 850's and has been a great tire, 305/35/22. At $150ea +/- can't beat the look and performance of the tire.

That's awesome. I'm going to have to check those out once I replace my Steeda springs with H&R. Maybe next year. Edit: didn't realize they were summer tires. I need all season tires. The lack of quality, but affordable 305/35 or 305/40 is crappy. If I had the stomach for it I'd just get the Pilot Sports.

How's the wet weather handling? I see that you're in Florida, so I suspect you've driven through some heavy rain by now!
