Under tray (Engine splash guard)

I had a bolt break in the fastener. Either from the dealership or whatever. Anyways, has anyone ever try to replace these? They are settled in the frame. I’m going to try to drill it out and rethread but need a Plan B. They are small so will likely break or would rather just replace them. Also, the rectangle push pins are messed up and won’t stay in so wanted to replace them but I can’t find a part number.

If you find a source for the rectangular pins other than as a component of the complete tray, please let us know where you found them. I looked and looked for my son-in-law car, and the only place I found them was with the tray.

You are talking about the metal insert that screw pictured as HS2 goes into right? I had one of those pop out, wouldn't go back into the frame, so I found something on Amazon that secured the cover. The red plastic piece fits with a light tap from a hammer and drift. The screw is different, but at least it secures.

I popped all of those inserts out and replaced them with riv nuts and socket head bolts…I didn’t like those tiny screws. After that I found some round push pins large enough to seat securely in the square holes…it’s been perfect to date.

Yeah I can’t find the rectangle push pins anywhere. Only place I haven’t done about that is go up to the dealership, which I would rather not. They’ll say “gotta buy the whole thing” or “ $25 a piece

The dealer looked like a deer in the headlights when I went in to get them. They looked for a while and were the ones that told me they were only available with the panel, go figure.

That said, these replacements that @Dphan67 recommended, seem like they'd work as an easy replacement.

Good find. As long as it secures that’ll work for me. Beats having that tray flap around.

Now, the real question, why do they need two different fasteners to hold that tray on? Can't we get by with all of them being the same? I get the part about those two can hold the shield in place while you start all the others, or even rolling down the assembly line but, seriously...

Engineering/Quality has been questionable lately with these newer vehicles. Especially after Covid. Just my opinion.
