I recently put in my summer tires brand new never been mounted before and I bought Motorcraft 315Mhz sensors off eBay and they’ve been on for over a week and they never synced up my tire pressures were the number from my stock wheels and then today I get TPMS fault on passenger side rear tire. What’s going on? How do I fix this? I tried the relearning thing and it told me to go to front left tire and I went and let air out for more then 10 seconds and nothing.

unfortunately, other members have bought from ebay before and the sensors were dead. I bought a set from TPMSbargains.com recently--not the cheapest but wanted pieace of mind.

most vehicles need a tool to reset the TPMS properly, take it to a tire shop and ask them to reset the TPMS and they would be able to see the battery life in said sensors. Its possible it just needs a proper reset.

Most vehicles might, new Ford vehicles do not. If the sensors are good they will auto learn after driving a few miles. This has been the case for years now.

If the car is working correctly that’s 100% the case. It’s literally how the car is designed to work. I have yet to do anything but drive in close to 6 years and countless wheel and tire swaps and rotations including a rotation last week. If a car doesn’t auto detect the TPMS there’s something off in the car…or the sensors.

look man i can appreciate your comments and knowledge, BUT that's not always the case, i have been doing tires for a living for 15 years and do this reset procedure on new fords all day everyday. Like i said thats not always the case and sometimes the vehicle needs to be put into learn mode and reset with a TPMS tool.

And again…if that needs to happen, something isn’t right with the car. When working properly, they self learn. Period. How long you’ve done your job doesn’t change that fact.

You can intentionally ignore what I wrote all you want….that still doesn’t make you an expert. I know plenty of people with post graduate degrees that are idiots. Now read what I said about the car again real slow and maybe you’ll understand it.

One thing I do and I use the cheap chinese sensors off Ebay. Is to let Discount Tire check them on the counter BEFORE you spend the money to put them in the wheels. Usually these are OK but I have had a bad one out of the box. Saves time and effort.

Hey if it makes you feel better you were right lol. I went to Flynn Auto Tires and they scanned my sensors said they’re good and then put my car in relearn mode and went around and scanned every tire and my horn honked every time and now my sensors work. So thank you for your advice.

There’s a glitch in your car then, just like I’ve said from the beginning.
I had new tires and wheels put on recently. Took loose wheels to the shop and picked them up to install myself. My new sensors in those wheel synched to the car within 2-3 miles. A month later I had different tires put on…the sensors synched to their new locations within a couple miles. Two weeks ago I had them rotated…same thing…synched within a couple of miles.
TPMS automatically synching has been a feature on Fords for at least 10 years as my 2016 F150 worked exactly the same way.
