Sunroof/windshield drain exit & wheel well fabric lining

Why did Ford put the exit for the sunroof/windshield drain line so far up into the wheel well and BEHIND the fabric liner? My liner stays so nasty and is breaking down in those spots. Anyone have a fix for this?

You think the small amount of water that comes through the drains is hurting the liner?
Let’s be realistic here…it’s not.

I used my smoke machine to blow thru the drains been good for a while now
