I did it last night. 6 new NGK Ruthenium at 41600 miles. I used the OEM-spec'd ones as I am not tuned. LTR6BHX.
Car had some stumbles and misfires right after coldstart. Those are gone and she idles very smoothly now.
Feels also like she has less hesitation when I step on the throttle.
Job was terrible though. I promised my BMW-535i-F10-driving-son to never bitch about his car again.
Took me around 2h and a lot of scratches on both my hands. Why would you shove an engine so deep under the dash?
By finishing this job successfully I should be eligible for a complimentary gynecologists-degree...
Driver-side was hard because of all the lines running over the coils. Passengerside had the HPFP-cover in the way.
I was able to replace the passenger-side by pushing and tucking the cover away. Didn't take it off and didn't rip it.
Just have a lot of different extensions, adapters and universal-joints at hand. The back plugs need you to add and remove extensions on their way in and out.
Also needed 3 zip-ties for the passenger-side as I had to cut them off.
Better be tall, have long arms and no fat-ass hands and fingers.
