I got walked down by a new Shelby F150, so I need to be a bit faster.

What's the next go fast upgrade for my '25 ST. Already have the usual bolts on's. DP, Exhaust, Intercooler, tune.

I need Mo Powa!

Depends on your tune. If you want to go partially or full ethanol (if you haven't already). Next comes upgraded fuel system/injectors, and then upgraded turbos. There may be some details in between, but that's the gist of it.

Well... I would tell you to not feel too bad. He may have close to 780 HP in that truck.

True. I don't think weighing 600# or so less is even enough to compensate for that.

Bit faster? E50+. Faster more efficiently? Turbos.

I wouldn't sweat that, honestly. Tuned 3.5 F150's are fast, and that is a whole other machine lol. Might as well throw built 10R transmission too.

My 2016 F150 would have beat probably every ST on the planet.
A stock Shelby truck is pretty easy for an E50 tune. 775 is at the crank on those so rwhp plus the added weight makes it a fun fight. Once they start modding they make more power very easy…not much you can do after that.

A full bolt-on Explorer can easily run in the 500–550 whp range, depending on the dyno.

The number one limitation is the fuel system, which can barely support an ethanol blend between E30 and E40 (I still don’t know why they call it E50). If you want higher ethanol content, you need to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors. On the F-150 platform, the engines are both DI and PI, so they can make about a quarter of that cost just by improving the fuel system, while on this platform you have to budget close to $5,000.

The other two limitations are the transmission, which is rated at around 600 lb-ft of torque and is already at its limit, and the turbos.

Anyone aiming for 600 whp should expect to spend around $10,000, just to put a number on it.

Shelby Trucks are blown 5.0's not the 3.5.

If it was a regular cab , those are 10sec trucks and from the move they are deadly with the 10spd.

These cars have no issues with E50.
