hah
Haha, glad I’m not the only one it annoys. What ever happened to warning lights when something ACTUALLY needed to be addressed? Oh a cute graphic that my seat belt is off… nice, oh now it’s still there but I get a good boy green check mark and need to press OK, sweet. What would I do without it?!
Came here for the same annoyance...
The real issue—and why car companies often struggle with software—is that something so simple should just be an
if-then statement.
If you detect weight on the seat
and the seatbelt isn’t clipped in, then sure, go ahead and annoy the hell out of me.
But once I’m buckled in, my passengers are buckled in, and all the lights are green for liftoff—
then go away instantly.
Instead, we end up with pointless button wear for something that could have been better automated. And now GM wants to drop CarPlay and Android Auto completely? Sync says hi!
I actually like Ford’s new software experience—but seriously, leave CarPlay alone. On another note, my wife's Macan doesnt do Android Auto. For some reason, Porsche decided not to put the software in for it. We paid a guy in Asia $300 to connect via TeamViewer and do what they should have done from the start. Now Android Auto works like it should.
All of this is where I go back to just build cars, let external software people do this for you.
