Dude the salt flat pic is EPIC

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It was too hot and rough to get real stupid…I clicked it off at 100 in the video. The salt is in real bad shape.

Easy day today. Into South Lake Tahoe for some time on the water and checking out state parks. The scenery is insane…so are the roads. AD6DC3C7-FC31-4AD0-9014-F8AA56A11022.jpeg E39B2102-478B-422E-BD40-3CD69ACDF6CA.jpeg

Yosemite day today…just as stunning now as it was on my first trip here 25+ years ago. This was my 5th time. Have you noticed the engine performance change with elevation changes? I'd suspect you have.

Absolutely. The DA at 8000’ elevation was almost 12,000’ today.

9 days and 3400 miles in. Kings Canyon and Sequoia Natl Park today. You have to see the General Sherman tree to understand the scale.

Thank you for sharing. You're in my old stomping grounds. Sad to see Bridel Vail Falls down to a trickle. When more robust it is spectacular. Miss the smell of the Giant Redwoods. Be safe and enjoy

Today was good and bad. Got turned around trying to cross the Hoover Dam….they won’t let you cross with any firearm…even locked in a hard case. We thought the Grand Canyon Skywalk would be better but it was very anticlimactic and I don’t recommend it at all. So…we jumped on and off Route 66 and stopped now in Williams for dinner.

The pics almost look fake since the scenery is so unreal. Very post card-ish. I'd love to see some of those places.

Since nobody has asked the question yet, how does the ST fare as a "road trip" rig? Lots of power and lots of space is always a huge plus but I don't particularly find the seats super comfortable after hour 2 of sitting in them so curious if you have noticed anything on your cross-country jaunt you didn't notice before or what your overall impression thusfar is.

I fixed the seat to my liking a long time ago…it’s been flawless and comfortable as hell for both of us. It cruises smooth as glass on the highways and shreds the mountain roads with ease.

Thats awesome. Yeah, I knew about your mods but unfortunately they aren't very applicable to me being 5'8" and 150lbs but my issues are more lumbar. I've tried the 3 back settings in a million different combinations and just can't find something that doesn't cause a stiff back after a couple hours; whereas for some reason in the cheap seats in my subaru I can sit there all day long with no discomfort at all... oh well, super glad to hear the trip is going well.

Yesterday was day 13. We started heading down into southwest Texas to Big Bend and we just flat ran outta steam. Stopped and calculated we could be home by 10 last night if we turned and burned 90+ the whole way. We started the day in Las Cruces, NM and went down through Marfa to see the worlds smallest Prada store in the middle of the desert then Alpine, TX then back up to Fort Stockton and got to driving. Picked up a tenpenny nail about 150 miles from home so I had to stop and plug the tire and air it back up and still made it home at 10:15.
grand total was 5701 miles and 11 states. Would have broken 6000 if we went all the way to Big Bend but we’ll save that for another day.
