2025 model with the B&O package and I've got everything replaced. I have the (previous car) the Morel Carbon MM3 that I was planning on using but found they were too deep for stock location. I then found a pair of the virtus nano carbon mw4 on marketplace for a decent price and grabbed them with the intention of putting them in the same place but found there wasn't really any opportunity to make hole bigger to accommodate the larger cone. So now I'm on custom A-pillar mode and unsure which one to target. I'm familiar with the MM3 and like it but because I have the A pillar with the vent in it, which I found out today there's no free space at the bottom of the pillar for the driver to go in I'm thinking about using the nano driver instead to limit obstruction.

I have two questions…
  1. Does anyone have experience with the MM3 AND the MW4? If so can provide an opinion between the two?
  2. How has everyone approached building out A pillars with the vent? Have you modified it to accommodate speaker? Did you just set it up to sit in front of the vent?

I had 2 different a-pillar builds before I moved mine to the dash. I had the vent blocked with both of them and never missed them for a second. They’re unblocked now and I still can’t tell a difference.
As to the 3 vs the 4….bigger is generally better here. You can cross them lower which is a good thing but they’re not so big that beamig isn’t an issue in the passband you’ll use them in so they don’t need to be aimed at all. You can fire them straight across the car if you like since they’re omnidirectional in that passband. That MW4 may open up the option for you to keep the vent intact since you could almost build out the pillar base and mount it completely outside.
