Rattling hitch cover

Bought a nice looking metal hitch cover, but it rattles. Any solutions?

Shims. You can use just about any non-corrosive material that you can squeeze in the gap be it a piece of rubber or a popsicle stick. No one is going to see it... :)

Thanks, I only had a rubber cover before this, never thought it would be an issue.

This did not work for my problem. It's the inside of the trailer hitch that raddles when I go over a bump in the road, not the outside portion.

Where'd you get this? Looks cool!
I had a similar issue with a previous SUV. I wrapped the hitch shaft with a few rounds of 'stretch wrap' till it fit snug , worked for me ( https://www.homedepot.com/p/Pratt-Retail-Specialties-5-in-x-1000-ft-Stretch-Wrap-5005001/202029371 ); good luck!
